WWE News: Bayley Reveals Frustration In WWE NXT, Biggest Lesson Learned In Wrestling

It’s never easy to see a great WWE superstar waste their talents on the biggest stage. Many believe the WWE has wasted the talents of dozens of guys and girls over the years. Since 2014, numerous WWE stars weren’t utilized properly, so they left for greener pastures. Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett, and Alberto Del Rio are just a few names the WWE misused throughout their careers. Del Rio’s story is a bit intriguing as his first run in the WWE was sensational.

He won Money in the Bank, the Royal Rumble, the World Heavyweight title, and the WWE championship. Del Rio was Edge’s last match in his wrestling career at WrestleMania 27. He dropped the belt to Edge in a great match that Edge was proud to call his last. As for Rhodes and Barrett, they weren’t treated well out of the gate. The U.K.-born superstar had a good run with the Nexus, but when John Cena beat all of them by himself, it was over for the dynamic stable.

This phenomenon doesn’t exclusively hold true for male competitors. Female wrestlers have this problem even more so than the gentlemen. Throughout the years, female WWE superstars have had their true talent ignored for the betterment of their bodies. That’s the main reason they were called “divas.” Women such as Natalya, Eve Torres, and even Beth Phoenix could’ve been used better in her career. Aside from Mickie James, Lita, and Trish Stratus, there wasn’t anyone the WWE could use due to booking and talent scouting.

Bayley is becoming the latest victim of WWE’s poor judgment of talent. Since her call-up to the main roster, she’s done nothing but beat a couple of Indy wrestlers and cut a few promos. Overall, it’s been very anti-climactic, as she was the most-over woman in WWE NXT history. Despite the disappointing main roster career thus far, Bayley talked to the Card Subject to Change podcast to discuss her WWE call-up and lessons she’s learned from wrestling.

“It’s tough but it’s all worth it. It’s been a long road for me coming from NXT. I was in NXT for almost 4 years, and just getting to the WWE and now being able to travel with them and kind of have to make new friends, get hotel rooms, travel to different cities every single night. It’s very different and so much fun. All the hard work in NXT that prepared me for this has been worth so valuable.”

I would say just to stay true to what I believe in and stay true to myself. That was something I learned from the very beginning when I first got to NXT. I had a long conversation with AJ Lee when I just felt a little bit lost…She told me just to be able to meet them half way. Obviously you have to do what they want but you also have to stay true to yourself and you have to feel comfortable doing what you’re doing.”

In developing news, there’s a chance Bayley won’t get the push she deserves at WrestleMania 33. According to an earlier article by the Inquisitr, there’s a chance Dana Brooke gets that push instead. Either way, Charlotte should hold the Raw Women’s belt until WrestleMania. So, a former NXT Women’s champion will get pushed aside, while a half-rate wrestler gets a monstrous push to the moon on the main roster.

Since leaving Charlotte as her sidekick, she injured Bayley once and almost injured her again in a battle royal. No Brooke match has gone on longer than five minutes on the main roster. Not to mention, Brooke has never held gold in the WWE, or in any promotion on planet Earth. Bleacher Report did a great job of diagnosing Bayley’s direction on the main roster.

However, it’s without fail that Dana Brooke will take Bayley’s spot atop WWE’s Women’s division, only crushing the lovable San Jose native’s dream to be a top women’s competitor. Throughout the news since September, Vince McMahon has remained neutral on her, as far as news reports are concerned. Fans are on the side of Bayley, but are the WWE’s brass as well? Due to Brooke still wrestling on TV, it’s doubtful.
