‘Fear The Walking Dead: Passage,’ Episode 4: Could Sierra Know Someone From ‘Fear The Walking Dead’?

The fourth installment of AMC’s web series, Fear the Walking Dead: Passage is now live. This episode allows viewers to find out a little more about the two characters’ personal lives, revealing an interesting potential link between Passage and Fear the Walking Dead.

The 50-second fourth episode of Fear the Walking Dead: Passage opens with Sierra and Gabi walking. They appear to have left the military base seen in previous installments of Passage and are now heading towards the tunnel Gabi told Sierra about in the third installment.

Gabi is making small talk while they walk and asks Sierra about where she is from. Sierra is not really eager to engage in conversation, having still not warmed to Gabi, although that may be more about Sierra’s personality than anything Gabi has done wrong. However, Gabi perseveres and Sierra finally reveals she is from L.A.

“We left when the military moved in,” Sierra reveals in this installment of Fear the Walking Dead: Passage, then follows up in a somber tone, “The bombs followed us.”

Gabi is instantly sorry she asked. She apologizes, but also points out Sierra isn’t the only one to have lost someone. This is when the fourth episode of Fear the Walking Dead: Passage reveals to the audience Gabi not only lost her sister during the outbreak, but it happened because Gabi didn’t know how to kill the undead yet.

Assessing the situation, Sierra then gives Gabi a crash course in how to kill the infected, indicating Gabi still has no idea about how to protect herself if the infected were to attack.

“Aim for the temple, brain stem, or eye. Anywhere that penetrates the brain,” Sierra instructs before handing Gabi a knife for protection.

What is interesting to note in this conversation is the fact Sierra is originally from L.A. She left when the bombing started. So, the question has to be asked, does Sierra know any of the established cast in Fear the Walking Dead?

While Travis, Madison, Nick, Chris, and Alicia haven’t yet mentioned knowing anyone named Sierra, it doesn’t mean they don’t know her. Perhaps Sierra was a neighbor or had a child that attended the high school at which Travis and Madison worked.

At a very long shot, she could even be the mother of Alicia’s boyfriend Matt. After all, it was assumed Matt’s parents were dead after their car was seen parked outside their house. Yet, as they say, in shows like The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, if you haven’t seen the dead body, they could still be alive. Could Sierra have returned home with her husband and found their infected son? Perhaps they had already encountered the undead and managed to escape from their son, fleeing the area. Only by tuning into subsequent episodes of Fear the Walking Dead: Passage will reveal the truth about Sierra.

And, if Sierra is Matt’s mother, things could very interesting if she meets up with Alicia in Season 3 of Fear the Walking Dead.
