Phaedra Parks is almost single and definitely ready to mingle! The star of Bravo’s hit reality TV series The Real Housewives of Atlanta opened up to her gal pal and RHOA co-star Porsha Williams about the status of her divorce with her soon-to-be ex-husband Apollo Nida and even dished about her dating life.
In a sneak peek for the upcoming premiere of RHOA Season 9, the 43-year-old attorney invited her bestie Porsha over to her home for some girl chat. But when Porsha rang the doorbell, her adorable three-year-old son Dylan answered playfully.
“Oh my gosh, did a ghost open the door?” Porsha asked as Phaedra’s youngest son hides behind the door.
The little toddler jumped out from behind giggling and ran into the kitchen where his mom was busy preparing lunch.
“Girl you fancy,” Phaedra said, greeting her friend with a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
Porsha brought over two plastic toy swords for Dylan and his older brother, six-year-old Ayden, to play with. Phaedra shares both of her sons with her estranged husband, Apollo Nida.
While the boys ran off to play with their new toys, Porsha sat down at the island in Phaedra’s kitchen. Phaedra poured her some lemonade and Porsha doled out the compliments in the RHOA Season 9 sneak peek.
“Phaedra, this lemonade better than Chic-fil-A!” she told her best friend, then complimented her outfit. “You’re sitting here looking like a voluptuous Mary Poppins, honey. You got that divorcee glow!”
Phaedra announced her separation from Apollo in 2014, according to Bravo . But she filed for divorce from her husband last year after he was sentenced to eight years in prison for identity theft and fraud. In her on-camera interview during the RHOA Season 9 sneak peek, Phaedra explained that although it’s been a year since she’s filed, it has taken longer than she expected because Apollo does not want to divorce his wife.
Porsha is also a divorcee after her 2013 split from her ex-husband, former NFL star Kordell Stewart. Even though her divorce was finalized in 2014, their split was contentious and Porsha’s ex recently slammed her in his tell-all book Truth: The Kordell Stewart Story , Radar Online reported.
But during the RHOA Season 9 sneak peek, the ladies are ready to put their respective divorces behind them. They started talking about their plans now as newly single women who are definitely ready to mingle and Phaedra suggested that they start going out to the club in order to meet men.
“Ooh, that’s gonna be double trouble, Porsha and Phaedra,” Porsha said in her on-camera interview. “That’s a whole lot of booty rocking everywhere.”
But even though the mom of two joked about going out to the clubs to find a new man, she didn’t seem ready to move on from Apollo quite yet. Porscha asked her pal if she’s ready to put herself out there on the dating scene again, and Phaedra answered honestly.
“Well, you know, I’m waiting for word on my divorce being final,” she told her friend. “I’m just hoping that we can get this resolved.”
In the RHOA Season 9 sneak peek, Phaedra’s lawyer Ronne Kaplan revealed her that her divorce case would go before a judge within the next 30 days.
“When I decide to get back into the dating game, I don’t know about this online dating stuff,” Phaedra told the cameras. “They say the people on Christian Mingle are crazy! They murderers! I don’t wanna be on there!”
But Phaedra doesn’t need to worry herself with online dating because Porsha is more than happy to set up some matches.
“I’ma make some phone calls,” Porsha told Phaedra. “And we’ll start doing some dating.”
