Katie Holmes And Tom Cruise Divorced For Scientology, Jamie Foxx Any Different?

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were once an example of an ideal couple. But when things turned ugly, the duo decided to split. Cruise admitted that his third wife filed for divorce in part because of his involvement with the Church of Scientology. A recent report suggests that Jamie Foxx is seriously interested in Suri’s mother, and he won’t follow Tom’s path in any way.

During his deposition, Tom exploded in anger when it was asked if Katie left him in part to “protect Suri from Scientology.” Tom first responded that he has found the question offensive and stated, “there is no need to protect my daughter from my religion.”

However, when the lawyers pushed the question asking if Katie ever indicated that she left him because of his involvement with Scientology, the Top Gun star responded:

“Did she say that? That was one of the assertions, yes.”

Before everything went downhill, there was a time when Katie thought very highly of Tom. During one of her interviews with Marie Claire, the Dawson’s Creek actress talked about her married life with Tom and how everything felt like a dream come true.

“It’s really exciting. Tom’s as big at home as he is on the movie screen. He’s so passionate about everything, whatever he’s doing. When he’s being a dad, he’s right there; he’s giving it his all. It’s inspiring and it’s fun. It’s an amazing life, but we always remind ourselves of how incredibly lucky we are.”

If this was like a dream come true for Katie, Tom was having the time of his life. The couple made their first public appearance together in Rome on April 27, 2005. A month later, the Minority Report star declared his love for the actress on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

“I’m in love. I’m in love and it’s one of these things where you want to be cool, like, ‘Yeah I like her’…that’s not how I feel,” a hyper Cruise told Winfrey. “I admired her and I thought I wanted to meet her so I called her because I wanted to meet her. You see someone’s work and you hear about them and you hear what a special person she is…and I wanted to meet this person and I met her and she’s extraordinary.”

After six years of happily married life, it was announced that the actress had filed for divorce from him. According to CNN, an attorney stated that the couple had amicably settled for divorce just two weeks after she filed for it.

“We are committed to working together as parents to accomplishing what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests,” read their joint statement. “We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents.”

Meanwhile, there have been reports that Katie is having a secret affair with Jamie Foxx and if things go accordingly, then there are chances that the rumored couple will decide to marry by the end of this year. A report from Radar Online suggests that the actress is not officially allowed to date anyone publicly as per her written agreement with Tom.

“She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri,” the insider further added. “Katie wanted out of the marriage so badly, she agreed to the terms and got $4.8 million in child support, plus another $5 million for herself.”

Katie’s involvement with Jamie is still not confirmed, but if there is a hint of any serious relationship, should Katie be worried about Jamie’s religious beliefs?

It has been reported that Jamie, whose real name is Eric Bishop, was raised Baptist and participated in his choir during his youth.

The Django Unchained star earlier revealed his familiarity with the Baptist church during some of his comedy routines when he made fun of church choirs and preachers.

During one of his interviews, a reporter asked him about his faith and what it means to him. The reporter was trying to challenge the actor on his Christian upbringing, but the star simply answered, “Everything. God is everything.”

On the other hand, the actress was baptized a Roman Catholic and attended Christ the King Chruch in Toledo. So, if there is a future in their rumored relationship, then things will go smoothly when it will come to religious practices.

Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx have never officially confirmed their relationship, so all the news about them getting married before Christmas are just rumors and there is no confirmation on their involvement with new religious practices.
