Evidence Mounts Against Former ‘Glee’ Star Mark Salling In Child Porn Case

Last December, Mark Salling was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography. The former Glee actor was released on bail only to be indicted on two charges again in May. Thousands of photos were reportedly found on digital devices and computers inside Salling’s home when it was searched, sending shockwaves through the Glee fandom.

The Hollywood Gossip reported that it was a former girlfriend of Mark Salling who tipped off law enforcement about the actor’s devious collection of photos. It’s unknown exactly which one since Salling was also known for romancing plenty of women during his rise to fame.

Last month, Salling’s Glee co-star and ex-girlfriend Naya Rivera opened up about her reaction to the charges against her former boyfriend. Naya has said that she “wasn’t surprised” by the charges against Mark. The famous couple dated for three years before Salling ultimately dumped Rivera. In her memoir, she said it was a blessing that he broke up with her and recounted how she learned the news of his arrest.

“My son’s nanny actually told me about it when the story broke,” Naya wrote. “I can’t say I was totally shocked, but still — WTF? Then I had no doubt that God really did have my back along the way. When Mark dumped me, I thought it was the worst thing ever, but can you imagine if that didn’t happen? And I was laying there in bed when the battering ram came through the door?”

“I think everyone should have that one relationship where you look back and ask yourself, ‘What the hell was I thinking?’ You’ll learn something and you won’t regret it,” Naya wrote in Sorry Not Sorry. “Unless, of course, that relationship was with someone who had a sizable stash of child porn on his computer. Then, by all means, regret everything.”

Radar Online recently released updated information on the case against Mark Salling. They claim that there are more than 100,000 pictures in evidence that were found on digital devices within his home. Some of them are so disturbing that we’ll spare the details.

In the charges against Salling, he is accused of possessing lewd images of girls who are less than 12-years-old. One of the most shocking pieces of evidence described contains video of a 5-year-old so this is most definitely not a case where there was any doubt that the victims were underage.

In June, Mark Salling surrendered himself and was booked again with the two charges he was being indicted on from the May filing. He was then released after posting $100,000 bail and now has to wear a tracking device to monitor his whereabouts. Salling is also required to submit to drug tests and isn’t allowed contact with minors unless their parents are present.

Salling is headed back to court on November 7. According to the U.S. District Court in a September 12 filing, “The government has produced discovery to the defense, including 100,000 pages of reports, photographs, and forensic examination results,several digital devices containing images of child pornography.”

If convicted of the felony child porn charges against him, Mark Salling faces 20 years in prison. His television career is now over and the disgraced Glee actor is no longer welcome in many social circles that once idolized him. Salling’s fall from glory is also a hard lesson that everyone isn’t always what they seem. Sometimes they are accused child predators dressed up as Hollywood actors with promising careers, money, and all of the attention from women that someone could ever want or need.
