Fall TV 2016 Schedule: What’s New And Back This Week On TV, October 10-16, 2016?


There are a lot of fall TV 2016 shows back already, but there are still so many missing. What about the likes of Supernatural Season 12, Chicago Fire Season 5, and The Vampire Diaries Season 8? Just when are they going to make it back on air? Will they return this week for the fall TV schedule? Here’s a look at what’s new and returning between October 10 and 16, 2016.

Monday, October 10, 2016

Monday will see the Supergirl Season 2 premiere at 8 p.m. There’s a change for the Supergirl fans, and that’s the network. Rather than airing on CBS, it will premiere on the CW network. This change was announced during the summer months and was due to viewing figures. It isn’t performing strongly enough to stick on the big network but is perfect to join other D.C. shows on the CW network.

CBS will air the premiere of 2 Broke Girls Season 6 at 9 p.m. The promo shows that the girls may not be broke for much longer. They will open the dessert bar with 2 Chainz lining up to try out the cupcakes.

Tuesday is full of returning and new shows. ABC kicks the night off with The Middle returning at 8 p.m. and then follows with the American Housewife pilot episode a half hour later. At 9 p.m. Fresh Off the Boat returns for another year.

Also at 9 p.m. NBC will air This Is Us. The show took a break last week and has now changed nights, so make sure you set your DVR! This will be its regular time slot for the rest of the season.

ABC then continues with the return of The Real O’Neals at 9:30 p.m. NBC finishes off the night with the Chicago Fire Season 5 premiere in its usual 10 p.m. slot. With the previous two Chicago shows returning at the start of the fall TV 2016 schedule, fans were a little worried that Fire wouldn’t return. The Inquisitr previously reported that the show was definitely returning for the fall TV season, despite rumors that it would be postponed until 2017.

All the CW shows are almost back. This week sees the return of Legends of Tomorrow at 8 p.m. Supernatural Season 12 gets a night change but is back this week following on from the superhero show.

USA airs the pilot episode of Falling Water at 10 p.m. Screener TV shares that Falling Water is about three people who are unrelated but find that they can manipulate each other’s dreams. It does sound a little like Christopher Nolan’s Inception, but the producers state that this is very different. There isn’t going to be as much ambiguity within the series as Inception had, and there will be more focus on the lines of dreams and reality being clear.

Finally, Netflix starts streaming Haters Back Off early in the morning. This is the latest Netflix Original series to make it to the service. It’s a comedy show telling the story of Miranda Sings making it to YouTube and growing her fanbase, despite being untalented. The show is based on the real-life Colleen Ballinger, a classically trained singer who started posting a fun series for her theater friends. Netflix worldwide will get access to this series.

There is nothing new or returning over the weekend on any of the networks or streaming services.

There are still a handful of shows to return for the fall TV 2016 schedule. They will come over the next few weeks, as the networks continue to space out their start dates. There are still plenty of new shows to reach the networks for fall 2016.
