WWE Rumors: No Mercy 2016 Results Spoilers Revealed By Match Odds?

The latest WWE rumors are swirling over who the No Mercy 2016 winners and losers will be. The latest SmackDown brand pay-per-view features a handful of championships on the line. Several of those titles are newer belts that were just awarded to their first owners. There’s also the WWE World Heavyweight championship which currently belongs to AJ Styles, but will be contested in a Triple Threat with two of the brand’s top stars competing. The No Mercy betting odds which have been released may show who will walk away with each of the titles Sunday night.

Each pay-per-view not only brings with it rumors and speculation, but also a set of betting odds. No Mercy is no different, as several online sports books and sites release their odds. The Betting Pro website’s Leigh Copson has a discussion of the latest odds for winners at Sunday’s pay-per-view. Among them are all the championship matches and even who Curt Hawkins will make his in-ring return against on Sunday night.

Copson speculates on the possible mystery man who will step in the ring with Hawkins. He considers Kane a 1 to 2 favorite, with amateur wrestler James Ellsworth at 5 to 2. Other possible opponents are Kalisto, Zach Ryder, Tyler Breeze, Fandango, and even Goldberg. Overall, he believes Ellsworth may be the guy. By the way, WWE has not said Hawkins will be actually wrestling and in his promo, he left it up in the air as to what he will be doing when he gets in the ring Sunday night.

As for the championship matches, it appears that AJ Styles and Becky Lynch will hold onto their belts for this pay-per-view. Both are very recent champions and seem to have a good bit of momentum with their current positions. AJ Styles won the WWE World Heavyweight title at last month’s Backlash event and will defend against John Cena and Dean Ambrose. Both opponents have been rumored to be taking some time off from WWE. As for Lynch, she’ll have her first defense as the newest women’s champ against formidable foe Alexa Bliss.

Lynch and Styles are both heavy favorites to win. AJ was listed as a -1200 favorite, while the field was at +600 to win. Becky Lynch was even stronger, with a listed moneyline price of -1705, while Bliss had an underdog price of +805. So it appears these two champions should both walk in and out with their respective belts on Sunday. However, there may be two championship matches to keep an eye on.

Will Dolph Ziggler call it quits on Sunday night or walk away with The Miz’s title? [Image by WWE.com]

One match that has had the WWE rumor mill talking for weeks has been the Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz bout. It will be a Career vs. Title match with a stipulation that if Ziggler fails to win the Intercontinental title from Miz on Sunday, he will be forced to retire. There’s been strong talk that Ziggler is retiring after No Mercy. However, the odds makers aren’t quite convinced that he will lose Sunday night. In fact, as of this report, Dolph was a -180 favorite to defeat Miz, who was a +140 underdog as of early Saturday. Those lines could change as the event gets closer.

A few sites aren’t buying into the hype that Ziggler will retire either. The CBS Sports website’s Adam Silverstein predicts that Ziggler will win the championship. Silverstein believes that Ziggler still has main event caliber talent and that is certainly needed on the SmackDown roster. That’s especially true if John Cena and Dean Ambrose take time off from the ring. Another consideration is that putting the title on Ziggler would make sense as the presidential election draws closer. Ziggler has been a key figure on Fox Business channel for shows talking about politics, so why not have the belt on display with him?

There appears to be another possible title change slated for the pay-per-view. In the WWE tag team bout, Heath Slater and Rhyno are listed at 5Dimes online sportsbook as +280 underdogs as of this report. The Usos were listed as -310 favorites. Could Rhyno possibly turn against Slater here and cost his team the belts? It should be interesting to see what goes down on Sunday night.

The No Mercy 2016 pay-per-view is scheduled for Sunday night in Sacramento, California. Fans will be able to watch all the mayhem and madness as it transpires on the WWE Network, with a No Mercy Kickoff Show at 7 p.m. Eastern Time and the main card arriving at 8 p.m. ET. With two possible title changes and the intrigue of what will happen with Dolph Ziggler, it seems like a must-see pay-per-view for pro wrestling fans.
