Minnesota Vikings Vs. Houston Texans: Bold Predictions For NFL Week 5

The Minnesota Vikings are set to host the Houston Texans in Week 5 of the 2016 NFL season. At this point in the year, the Vikings are still undefeated at 4-0 while the Texans hold a 3-1 record.

Mike Zimmer has to be impressed with the way that his team has overcome adversity. Starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater went down with a gruesome knee injury, and then star running back Adrian Peterson suffered a knee injury that could end his season. Minnesota has remained at the top of the NFC North division and appear to be serious contenders at this point in the season.

Houston, on the other hand, is without question the favorite to win the AFC South this season. They have a top-notch defense, although J.J. Watt did go down with an injury and will miss some time. Despite that, the Texans are a serious contender in the AFC if their offense can live up to its full potential.

It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out for both of these teams. With that being said, one of them will come out of Sunday afternoon with a big win.

What bold predictions can be made for the Vikings vs. Texans game in NFL Week 5 action?

Sam Bradford Will Continue His Impressive Play

At this point, Sam Bradford playing at a high level might not be considered a “bold prediction” to most. Bradford will throw for at least 300 yards and three touchdowns against the Texans. Minnesota has to be happy with the quarterback play they are receiving and it sets up some questions long-term about whether they keep Bradford and go back to Bridgewater as their starter.

Will Fuller Racks Up 100 Receiving Yards, Two Touchdowns

Even though Minnesota has one of the top defenses so far this season, rookie wide receiver Wil Fuller will rack up 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He has been consistent all season long for Houston and will not slow down this week. Minnesota will focus on shutting down DeAndre Hopkins, which will allow Fuller to get loose for some big plays.

Minnesota Will Sack Brock Osweiler Six Times

Brock Osweiler has been a bit inconsistent this season but has still been an upgrade over what the Texans had last season. Minnesota will put a lot of pressure on him this week and will sack him at least six times. That is a very high sack total for any team, but the Vikings are capable of making it happen.

Lamar Miller Will Get Completely Shut Down

If you were expecting the Texans to have success running the football, you would be incorrect. Lamar Miller is not going to find any room to run and will be completely shut down by the Minnesota defense. Fantasy football owners need to take note and use extreme caution putting Miller into their lineups.

The Minnesota Vikings Will Move to 5-0 with a Big Win

Perhaps the most surprising team in the NFL this season has been the Vikings. They have been dominant on both sides of the football and are one of two unbeaten teams in the NFC. Minnesota will come through with a big win this week and will improve to 5-0 on the season.

Expect to see the Texans put up a fight, but the Vikings are simply too good. It won’t be a blowout, but the Vikings are going to have control for the majority of the game.
