Kyron Horman: Missing Boy’s Stepmom Terri Horman To Appear On Dr. Phil Over 6 Yrs. After He Vanished [Video]

The case of Kyron Horman has become one of the most mysterious unsolved missing children cases in recent years. On June 4, 2010, the then-7-year-old little boy disappeared without a trace. His stepmother, Terri Horman, was the last one to see Kyron Horman alive, and since his disappearance, she has given conflicting stories to law enforcement, reportedly failed multiple polygraph tests related to Kyron’s disappearance, been involved in a murder-for-hire scheme regarding her ex-husband (and Kyron’s father) Kaine Horman, and utterly refused to speak publicly about the details of what happened to Kyron Horman.

Except to tell the world that she didn’t do it.

As Oregon Live reports, Kyron Horman is believed to have disappeared from his elementary school, Skyline Elementary, at least that’s the story Terri Horman told the world. The day Kyron went missing was also the day of the school’s science fair, for which Kyron prepared a project about tree frogs. In one of the most iconic images that has circulated since he vanished, he was photographed by his stepmother standing in front of that project.

The photo was reportedly taken sometime between 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. Terri was seen at the school with Kyron at that time, and she reportedly left the school at 8:45 a.m. following her visit to the science fair. She has steadfastly told law enforcement that she didn’t leave the school until she saw Kyron Horman walking toward his classroom.

Classes at Kyron’s school began at 10:00 a.m., and at some point his teacher marked him absent. When the Kaine and Terri Horman went to Kyron’s bus stop to meet him after school, it was then that they reportedly discovered that Kyron hadn’t been in class all day. The official 911 call was made by school officials.

Soon thereafter, the Kyron Horman’s parents (and stepparents) gave a public press conference about the boy’s disappearance. Right away, people began to comment that Terri Horman appeared to be uncomfortable, evasive and somehow detached.

In the midst of the search for her stepson Kyron, Terri was photographed and caught on video living her life as though nothing was wrong. She was caught working out at the gym. It was soon discovered that the Horman’s home life was far from perfect, and each new discovery raised more questions than answers about Terri Horman’s story.

What followed was the largest search and rescue operation in Oregon history. Despite the efforts of thousands of volunteers, no trace of Kyron was ever found. The case began as a missing endangered child case, but it ultimately turned into a criminal investigation as police realized that Terri Horman’s story didn’t add up.

While law enforcement desperately tried to find Kyron Horman and bring him home safely, Terri clammed up. She refused to continue assisting in the investigation. She lawyered up. She allegedly tried to hire someone to kill her then-husband, Kaine. She got divorced and lost custody of her toddler daughter. She tried (and failed) to change her name. She eventually moved out of state because so many people believed she was behind the disappearance of her young stepson, Kyron Horman, and those people refused to let her live in peace while refusing to help the investigation.

Still, Terri Horman refused to speak out publicly and in detail about what really happened to Kyron Horman that June morning.

One of Terri Horman’s biggest critics has been Kyron Horman’s biological mother, Desiree Young. Ms. Young has repeatedly spoken out about what she calls Terri’s “involvement” in her son’s disappearance. She has publicly called Terri Horman “the evil one,” and even filed a civil suit against Terri in connection with Kyron Horman’s disappearance. That suit was later dropped, reportedly so it wouldn’t interfere with or compromise the ongoing criminal investigation into Kyron Horman’s vanishing.

“What is it like to have a missing loved one? Every day is just as painful as the last. You struggle to hold on to hope when you are constantly riding a roller coaster of emotions. You struggle to remember and find any bit of happiness, but are convinced that it no longer exists. Many moments and events in your family’s life that should be celebrated are just reminders that you still have someone missing from it.”

Kyron Horman’s biological mother has long asserted that if Terri Horman isn’t directly responsible for her son’s disappearance, she knows who is. She also believes that Terri knows precisely where Kyron is, whether he’s alive or dead, and that she is deliberately withholding information that could lead Kyron’s parents to their missing son.

Now, more than six years after Kyron Horman vanished, and almost six years since she’s spoken publicly about her missing stepson, Terri Horman is reportedly going to be talking publicly about the case for the first time. Dr.Phil.com reports that Terri Horman will be speaking to Dr. Phil during the upcoming season of the television therapist’s long-running show.

A clip of the Terri Horman interview can be seen here.

It is unclear what Kyron Horman’s stepmother might have to say after all this time, but advocates for Kyron Horman, such as the Facebook group Kyron Horman’s World Soldiers, are hoping that whatever she has to say will help bring Kyron home and bring whoever is behind his disappearance to justice.

While the court of public opinion has largely already tried Terri Horman in the disappearance of Kyron Horman (and found her guilty), the reality of the situation is that she has never been charged with a crime in connection with his disappearance. She hasn’t been name a suspect or even a person of interest.

However, inconsistencies in her story, a possible motive for causing Kyron Horman harm (she reportedly had a deep hatred for her stepson that she did her best to keep hidden), and her subsequent bizarre behavior (i.e., allegedly trying to hire someone to kill her ex-husband, not fighting for custody of her young daughter to avoid self-incrimination in the Kyron Horman case) have led many to believe that she knows a lot more than she’s ever admitted.

While The Dr. Phil Show hasn’t yet released an air date for the Terri Horman episode, it’s expected that they will soon, so those following the case should be ready to mark their calendars. Until then, one can only hope that whatever she says during her upcoming interview will help bring Kyron Horman home.
