‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Star Carly Waddell ‘Faking It’ With Evan Bass: ‘She’s Getting Paid,’ Says ‘Millionaire Matchmaker’ Patti Stanger

Millionaire Matchmaker star Patti Stanger knows a thing or two about relationships, and she’s doing some serious truth-telling about the couples who make it to the Bachelor in Paradise season finale this week.

Spoilers have been plentiful this season, with several contestants leaking out information about the outcome of the show online before the season finale airs on Tuesday night. One couple who had a rocky start — Carly Waddell and Evan Bass — are rumored to be one of the five couples who will appear on the finale, but are they really in love or is this just another couple hoping to cash in on their 90 seconds of fame?

Here’s what Patti Stanger has to say about Carly and Evan’s relationship — and for those who are fans of Team Cevan, be prepared. Patti is brutally honest about Carly’s intentions with Evan, and it’s not good news for those who think they will tie the knot and live happily ever after.

Warning: Bachelor in Paradise Season 3 spoilers ahead!

Carly and Evan are the one couple who have managed to keep their post-Paradise relationship under wraps, although Carly has slipped up once or twice on social media when she posted photos that were clearly taken in Evan’s Nashville home. According to blogger Reality Steve, Carly took a photo in Evan’s kitchen and quickly deleted it, but not before he took a screenshot of the pic.

However, even if the spoilers are correct and Evan and Carly did get engaged at the final rose ceremony, Patti Stanger thinks the whole relationship is fake and points to Carly as the one who is to blame.

Matchmaker Patti Stanger started the Millionaire Dating Club back in 2000, so she’s well-versed in the world of good and bad relationships. In 2008, her reality TV show, Millionaire Matchmaker, became an instant hit on the Bravo network, and she is known for being painfully honest about her clients.

Patti didn’t mince words when she told WetPaint what she thought about Carly’s relationship with Evan and doesn’t hold out much hope for the couple going forward.

“I know that Carly is just faking it so she has a rose for the entire season,” Patti told WetPaint. “She’s getting paid. This is a TV show, they have a plan.”

According to the Bustle, for some contestants, joining the Bachelor in Paradise cast is a lucrative gig, with paychecks ranging between $7,000 to $15,000 depending on the contestant’s popularity and how long they stay in Paradise.

Considering this is Carly’s second season, she probably is making quite a bit more than some of the contestants who aren’t as well known such as Shushanna Mkrtychyan (Ben’s season) and Brett Melnick (Andi’s season).

In addition to the check that Carly will receive for appearing on ABC’s popular reality show, she’s also pimping out a variety of products on Twitter and Instagram, including hair vitamins, sunglasses, and teeth whitener. Many sponsors are willing to pay big bucks to popular cast members who don’t mind promoting their products.

Carly isn’t alone with her product promotions, as many of the franchise’s stars try to make a living promoting products for cash on social media. According to Ad Age, former Bachelorette star Desire (Hartsock) Siegfried didn’t specify how much she gets paid for promotional posts, but states that “anything that compensates more than a weeks’ worth pay at a full-time job is going to be worth it.”

So, is Carly really in love with Evan, and will their Paradise engagement lead to a wedding? Chances are they will appear on the After Paradise talk show on Tuesday night to gush about their love story, but time will tell over the next few weeks if they stay together once they are out of the media spotlight.

Do you think Evan and Carly will get married or are is Patti Stanger right about their relationship being based on a paycheck?
