Michelle Theer: ‘Snapped Killer Couples’ On Case Of Sex Swinger And Sniper Who Killed Air Force Captain In Fayetteville

Psychologist Michelle Theer and her lover, John Diamond, killed Michelle’s husband, Marty Theer, in cold blood. Tonight the fatal love triangle will be discussed on Snapped: Killer Couples on the Oxygen Network. Police investigators and family members will help recount Marty Theer’s story.

Dressed For A Christmas Killing

Gunshots rang out that cold night in December 2000 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. When paramedics arrived to the scene at Raeford Road, they found the body of a white male who had been shot multiple times. The victim, who was dressed for a Christmas party, was identified as 31-year old Frank Martin Theer. His wife, Michelle Theer, who was also at the scene, stated that she was a psychologist and had come to her office after a party to pick up a book before she heard gunshots and found Marty bleeding.

Taking a first look at the scene, it looked like a robbery gone bad. But that theory was squashed after nothing of value was found missing from the scene. Also, it appeared that this was a targeted hit. A witness told investigators that he heard five shots with pauses in between.

Police let Michelle Theer go but called her back in after phone records showed that she made a phone call to a man named John Diamond before the murder. She admitted that she had made the call, but she didn’t make contact with John.

Michelle Theer failed to tell police that John Diamond was her lover. They found that information out through her boss, who also indicated that Michelle and her husband, Marty Theer, were having marital troubles.

Swinger Tales: Internet Seduction

John Diamond had an alibi. According to him, he was home with his wife, Lourdes, a Latina who he met overseas. Though suspicious, there wasn’t enough evidence to connect them to the murder. However, that changed when John Diamond moved in with Michelle Theer after Marty’s death, causing suspicious neighbors to talk since it was obvious that Michelle Theer was not a grieving widow.

From the very first time that Michelle met John Diamond over the internet, she was smitten with him. Michelle Theer was a desperate housewife who was not getting as much loving from her husband that she needed. Marty Theer, an Air Force captain, had a prestigious position in the military and was always away, leaving Michelle all alone. Pretty soon, Michelle took to the internet, where she placed an ad looking for a sexual partner. When John Diamond answered, and they had sex for the first time, it was explosive. Eventually, John began watching Michelle Theer have sex with other people after she became involved with a swinging club.

Watching Michelle Theer having sex with multiple men made John Diamond want her even more. They say he fell hard for Michelle, who couldn’t make up her mind whether she wanted to be with John Diamond or her husband, Marty. She loved Marty, but he never gave her the attention that John did, and John Diamond didn’t have the money that Marty had. Stuck between two men, she went back and forth between John and Marty. Marty knew nothing about John, but John knew everything about Marty, and it drove him crazy that Michelle was playing with his heart.

The Perfect Plan Unravels

After Marty Theer’s murder, John Diamond thought he and Michelle would finally have the life they deserved with Marty out of the way and the hefty insurance check coming in. But he forgot about his wife, Lourdes, who had told police that John was with her during the time of the murder. Lourdes was furious when John left her to move in with Michelle, and when police approached her again, she told them that on the night of the murder John Diamond left their home after he got a phone call.

Phone records also showed that John Diamond was in contact with another man, who told police that he let John borrow his gun. A ballistics test proved that the friend’s gun was the same one used to kill Marty Theer.

John Diamond was arrested and charged with murder. He denied killing Marty and blamed the shooting on Michelle.

Authorities say the following occurred that December night, according to Caselaw court records.

  • Michelle Theer enticed Marty to go to a Christmas party that night.
  • Then, she called John Diamond before they left the party to tell him they were en route.
  • Once, she stepped inside of her office, she stayed long enough for John Diamond to emerge from the darkness and pump five bullets into Marty Theer.

Some say John Diamond wasn’t the actual shooter because he was an expert sniper in the military, and Marty Theer’s death was not a clean shot but involved multiple shots. Either way, John Diamond was arrested and charged for the crime.

Killer Tries To Change Face

As for Michelle Theer, she went on the run and had plastic surgery to hide her identity but was finally apprehended and brought to justice, according to Fayo Observer. Michelle Theer and John Diamond were given life sentences.
