50 Cent News: New Music From Legendary Rapper To Be Released Tomorrow?
Fans of hip-hop are certainly excited about the latest 50 Cent news coming out of Hollywood: not only is the rapper riding high on the success of his hit Starz show, Power, but the rap collective that made him famous — G-Unit — will be releasing new music tomorrow!
That’s according to respected hip-hop industry blog Hip-Hop’N’More, who dropped the latest 50 Cent news earlier today about the new music being released under the G-Unit moniker. Now, one thing to note is that this isn’t an official 50 Cent release — rather, this mixtape, called The Lost Flash Drive, is being released by former G-Unit master of ceremonies, DJ Whoo Kid. Even though Whoo Kid isn’t an official member of G-Unit anymore, he still seems to be very close to the crew, having been given permission to release the mixtape by 50 Cent and his fellow G-Unit member, Tony Yayo.
Though it’s unclear which G-Unit artists are going to be featured on the mixtape, it definitely looks like we’ll be hearing some new music from 50 Cent — born Curtis Jackson — tomorrow, even if the music is technically “old new music.” It will definitely be a treat for long-time fans of hip-hop!
“This next episode of Power is crazy. You won’t believe what you’re seeing. I’m going away until things die down.”
Further adding to the proof that 50 Cent is riding high on a wave of success, last week’s episode of Power was, in fact, the most watched episode of any Starz original series in the network’s entire history, beating out such other shows as Black Sails and the ever-popular Outlander in the ratings.
“We got motherf*****g Ciroc? We got all this liquor and y’all walked in and come to my room and he ain’t brought no Ciroc. I don’t want that old-ass n***a around me. He an old-ass b***h.”
This is just the latest round in the ongoing rivalry between Fif and Diddy, which began many years ago when both acts were first starting out on the New York hip-hop circuit. Whether this “beef” is all for show, or a legitimate fight between the two, remains to be seen.
