Luann de Lesseps On Thomas’ Cheating: ‘I Had To Dig Deep Within Myself’

Luann de Lesseps was devastated on last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York when Bethenny Frankel showed her the revealing picture of him making out with another woman at the Regency Hotel in New York City. As she revealed on the episode, she shared that she was very upset with him for making out with another woman at the hotel, where he often goes. In fact, both Thomas D’Agostino and Luann were at the hotel that night together, but he returned with another woman later that night. It’s no secret that Luann was heartbroken about this cheating scandal, but things didn’t turn out as people expected.

According to a new Bravo report, Luann de Lesseps is now trying to clear Thomas’ name once again after revealing that he had made a mistake. For months, Luann has tried to show people just how in love she is with him, so it isn’t surprising that she was so quick to forgive him after he was caught cheating on her.

“If you can’t forgive someone you love, [then] who can you forgive? I was very hurt when Bethenny shared with me, after showing the other girls, the photo of Tom at the Regency. It took me some time to pull myself together after the initial shock. My gut reaction was to think about how this looked to my friends and family, and it wasn’t until I had time to think that I began to understand what I was feeling,” Luann de Lesseps reveals in her blog for The Real Housewives of New York, according to Bravo.

de Lesseps reveals that she took some time to herself after returning home from Miami. Rather than return home to his apartment, she moved into a hotel where she stayed for a couple of days. The two met up to talk, and Luann revealed that they had decided to work things out and stay together. They were going to get married. Even though Bethenny tried to warn her about his cheating, she was in complete denial. During the finale, she told Frankel to stay out of her business with Thomas, and she didn’t want to know about any more rumors.

“We all make mistakes, and some we make in private and others we make for the world to see. After I found out about what Tom had done, I had to dig deep within myself to find the love to forgive, but I did. I forgave him shortly after reuniting back in New York. Was it easy? No way. Am I glad I did? Absolutely. We are still engaged and are finalizing our New Year’s Eve wedding plans. He’s a good man and we love each other. We will stand the test of time regardless of what those women try to do to ruin our happiness,” Luann de Lesseps reveals in her Bravo blog for The Real Housewives of New York.

Many of the ladies were in complete shock that Luann would be in denial about the cheating. Not only did she forgive him for kissing another woman, but she was also very angry with her co-stars for getting involved in the drama. It makes sense that she would be embarrassed about his cheating and how it looks on her. According to a Daily Mail report, de Lesseps completely freaked out when she learned about the news, but Thomas got involved with her friendships and he even threatened Dorinda Medley over not being supportive.
