Did Sam Heughan Just Reveal He Is The Next James Bond?
Actor Sam Heughan may have accidentally let it slip that he is the next James Bond.
On July 14, Sam Heughan put up a post on his official Facebook page, announcing that he has been chosen as the global ambassador for Barbour. Barbour, a UK brand which sells premium jackets and accessories for men and women, does have a connection with the James Bond movie franchise.
“Been so excited about this and great to finally be able to share that I’m @Barbour first Global Brand Ambassador! Thrilled to be working with such an iconic brand. Happy to join the extended Barbour family,” Sam Heughan said in his Facebook post.
The 2012 James Bond movie Skyfall shows Daniel Craig sporting Barbour’s Beacon Heritage Sports Jacket in the exciting Scotland scene. Albert Finney was also seen wearing the Dunmoor Gilet from the Barbour Sporting collection in this scene. Barbour, in its official blog, has shared the details.

According to a report by Bond Suits, the Barbour jacket worn by Daniel Craig is the limited edition by To Ki To, designed by Tokihito Yoshida.
Star Trek fame William Shatner has backed the Outlander star for the next James Bond role. William Shatner, in his tweet, pointed out that the Scottish actor is tall, good looking and talented. “Tall good looking, talented; no not me (but thank you) Sam Heughan is your next Bond. Look no further,” Shatner tweeted.

Earlier, in an interview to the Telegraph, director Sam Mendes pointed out that the next James Bond will be an actor people would least expect. This means the spy is someone who has not scaled great heights in movies and yet is a good actor. Sam Heughan fits the bill.
“There’s this constant debate about who’s going to be the next Bond. Barbara Broccoli chooses who’s going to be the next James Bond: end of story,” he said.
“I can guarantee whatever happens with it, it will not be what you expect. That’s what she’s been brilliant at, and that’s how it’ll survive,” said Mendes.
“It’s not a public vote, and I think we’re in an age where everything is deemed voteable on. Some things just aren’t and it’s better that way, ” he said, according to a report by the Telegraph.
Sam Heughan shot to fame in 2014 when he starred in the ongoing historical time-travel drama Outlander. The TV series is based on books by author Diana Gabaldon.
According to a recent report by E! Online, Sam Heughan recently flaunted his athletic body for the glamorous magazine Haute Living. Based on the steamy photographs, it is visibly evident that Sam Heughan could pull off the sexy James Bond role. However, the actor has not made any official comments about his role as 007.
Speculation for the next James Bond is running amok and the guesswork continues on social media.

Idris Elba is once again the subject of #Bond25 casting rumors. Director Steven Spielberg recently told the BBC that his choice for the 007 role would be Idris Elba. “I think it’s time for a Bond of colour,” he said.
Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson, children of the franchise’s creator, in an interview with the Telegraph last year said that there is a possibility of the next James Bond being played by a black actor.
“Nothing’s ruled out,” said Wilson.
“But there’s nothing we can say about this that won’t be misinterpreted, whenever we say anything at all there are headlines saying: ‘A black person will never be Bond’, ‘The next James Bond will be a woman’. ‘A dog,'” said Broccoli.
