‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 Finale Spoilers — These Actors Just Renewed Their Contracts, So Consider Them Safe

The Game of Thrones Season 6 finale is only days away, and fans are starting to wonder which characters will meet their untimely end.

HBO’s hit show is notorious for killing off major characters. Thankfully, most of the main cast just struck a new contract with the network for another season.

According to Vanity Fair, the previous contract for the main characters was around $300,000 per episode, which amounted to $3 million per year.

The new contract raised their salary to an incredible $500,000 per installment.

Which actors were included in the new contract and will likely make it to Season 7?

The main cast members are Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), and Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen).

Considering how these five actors just negotiated a major contract for future seasons, it’s safe to assume they will live through the upcoming finale.

While the new salaries are high, the Game of Thrones actors are not the highest paid on television.

The Big Bang Theory stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, and Kaley Cuoco bring in $1 million per installment. This disparity is normal between major broadcast networks and cable companies like HBO.

Meanwhile, Season 7 of Game of Thrones has been confirmed. However, creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss hinted that the next two seasons might be shorter than previous ones.

Whatever happens in the future, fans are gearing up for the Season 6 finale, which will be the longest installment of the hit series to date.

According to Coming Soon, HBO has released a few images for the finale, titled “The Winds of Winter.”

What can fans expect to unfold in the Season 6 finale?

Apart from the finale photos, the network released a short trailer that offers a glimpse at what’s in store in the next episode.

For starters, the Hollywood Reporter revealed that Cersei’s fight with the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) is in full swing.

The trailer beings with Cersei and Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer) getting ready in isolation.

“Are you prepared to stand trial and profess your innocence before the Seven?” the High Sparrow asks in the next scene.

With Cersei unable to rely on trial by combat, it is unclear how she will get out alive. Knowing Cersei, however, there is little doubt that she has a plan.

That plan, unfortunately, will not include her brother Jaime. In fact, Jaime is still cleaning up the mess caused by the Blackfish and he’s shown making an alliance with Walder Frey (David Bradley).

Although Jon and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) came out victorious in the Battle of the Bastards, their rule in Winterfell is about to get complicated.

“[We need to] trust each other,” they both vow. “We have so many enemies.”

Of course, their biggest enemy is Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen), who has a history of backstabbing others to gain power.

This time, it appears as though Littlefinger will try and marry Sansa for gain.

The storyline in the North will also feature Ser Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham) confronting Melisandre (Carice van Houten) about the death of Shireen Baratheon (Kerry Ingram).

Shireen was burned to death at the behest of Melisandre just prior to Stannis’ defeat at Winterfell.

Lastly, fans will see Daenerys making plans to travel to Westeros with her army of Dothraki and three dragons. However, her plans to conquer the world won’t come without a good deal of danger.

“You’re in the great game now,” Tyrion warns her in the video. “And the great game is terrifying.”

The Season 6 finale of Game of Thrones is set to air June 26 on HBO.
