Is Kate Middleton too thin? Katie Couric seems to think so.
During a recent Q&A session following a test taping for her new show, Katie , Couric was asked about who her “dream guest” for the new show would be.
Couric said that she would love to have Kate Middleton on the show but then added that the Duchess of Cambridge had to eat more because she was too thin.
A live blog of the event by Whitney English recorded Couric saying:
“I think it would be really interesting to interview Kate Middleton because I think she has comported herself so well since she has been thrust in the limelight … I think she needs to eat more because she’s so thin.”
Couric’s comments weren’t meant to be mean-spirited, but they did strike up a conversation about Middleton’s weight.
According to The Daily Beast , Middleton lost 10 pounds before the Royal Wedding and has seemingly continued to lose weight as a member of the royal family. Middleton has frequently been accused of being bulimic, and Couric’s comments certainly won’t do anything to change that perception.
The Royal Family has not commented on Middleton’s weight but several “inside sources” have insisted via gossip magazines that Middleton is “fine” and that she does not have an eating disorder.
