‘Real Housewives’ Star Ramona Singer Supports Jules Wainstein In ‘RHONY’ Divorce Shocker
When it comes to feeling sympathy for Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY) star Jules Wainstein as she goes through a divorce from husband Michael Wainstein, Ramona Singer is vocal in showing her support. Singer told Us Weekly that she empathizes with her co-star.
“I know she’s heartbroken, and I think it’s really sad,” shared Ramona. “I mean, listen, let’s face it: Half the marriages [on Real Housewives] do end in divorce, and they end in divorce for a lot of assorted reasons.”
Singer revealed that the publicity accompanying a celebrity divorce makes everything worse. And it is particularly challenging when children are involved, pointed out Ramona.
“I think it’s a really sad thing that it becomes public. I mean, something like this, you want to keep private,” noted Ramona.
“You want to protect your children and it’s just hard enough to deal with without it being all over the media.”
Married for eight years, Jules chose to put a halt to her relationship when she discovered allegations that Michael was involved with another woman. Based on her own experience with relationships, Singer has faith that going through all this will empower the other Real Housewives Of New York City stars.
Ramona and her former husband, Mario Singer, broke up in 2013. The reality TV diva is now at the point where she has returned to the dating scene. Singer feels that although it is difficult now, her friend will discover her resiliency.
“I really believe that in life, one grows from the hardships, and this is definitely a major hardship, but I think she’ll grow from it and be stronger for it,” mused Ramona. “And I respect her a lot and I think she’s more resilient than she knows.”
As viewers grew to learn more about Jules and Michael throughout the season of the Real Housewives Of New York City, only seemingly insignificant arguments were shown. The RHONY star’s husband, who is a principal at Private Capital Group, have two young children. Jagger is 5, and Rio is 2.
As for whether the reality TV show triggered the divorce, the problems that caused the split are not related to RHONY, according to a representative for Jules. That individual also revealed that it was a shocker.
“It has nothing to do with the show,” her spokesperson revealed to Us. “They had issues for a while, but Jules was blindsided by this.”
Bravo broadcasts The Real Housewives of New York City at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesdays.
Dishing with E News about the RHONY divorce bombshell, Ramona also emphasized that Jules is left feeling shocked and saddened by the end of her eight-year marriage. Singer is grieving for her friend as well.
“I’m very saddened for Jules,” revealed Ramona. “I know her heart’s broken. It’s never easy when there are problems in a marriage, especially when you realize you need to divorce and I’m there for her.”
Singer praised the other Real Housewives of New York City star for her mothering skills, noting that she was prioritizing her youngsters.
“She’s doing as well as she can in the situation and her priority—because she is such a great mother—are her two children. I think Jules was totally shocked by what happened and was very disappointed and it’s sad. It’s just very sad.”
In addition, Ramona believes in the value of what she termed “girls’ code.” That means offering support wherever and whenever the new cast member of The Real Housewives of New York City needs it.
“I believe in girls’ code. Girls help other girls and I know I’m going to be there so much for her,” Singer declared.
As for the possibility that the reality TV show contributed in any way to the marriage problems, a source revealed to E! News that the publicity did make a difference.
“The visibility of the show highlighted the dysfunction in the marriage,” clarified the source.
