Sense8 Season 2 has already been confirmed to air on December 25. Unfortunately, only Episode 1 will premiere on Christmas Day. The rest of the episodes will be available on Netflix by 2017. There will also be a few changes in the cast, including Toby Onwumere replacing Aml Ameen for the role of Capheus.

On her official Twitter page, Jamie Clayton, who plays Nomi Marks on Sense8, confirmed that the second season of the hit Netflix series will return this Christmas.

The actress also took this time to clear rumors claiming that Aml Ameen (Capheus) has been replaced by Toby Onwumere after the former made transphobic comments on set. A Sense8 fan asked Clayton if Ameen was “booted from the set” after making transphobic remarks to her and Lana Wachowski.

“NO. Please help stop that rumor,” Clayton tweeted.

Jamie’s reaction towards Aml leaving Sense8 Season 2 surprised quite a lot of fans last week. The transgender actress said that she was “fine” and even “stoked” about the news, adding that she was not sad at all with the shake-up.

In April, Deadline reported that Aml Ameen will be replaced by Toby Onwumere. The outlet clamed that the Maze Runner star “abruptly” left in the middle of filming Sense8 Season 2, and producers were left with no choice but to find a replacement.

While not much is known about Ameen’s departure, sources insisted that it started with a feud with Sense8 co-creator/executive producer/director Lana Wachowski. They held that the two had a conflict during the table read for Season 2 in Berlin. It was said that the things took a turn for the worse when they flew to India to film some of the episodes.

Some insiders, however, speculated that Aml Ameen was fired from the show. They held that the actor did not actually leave but was forced to do so by Wachowski.

Interestingly, his Sense8 Season 2 co-star Jamie Clayton immediately retweeted the “exciting” news.

When a fan asked if Ameen’s departure could end up hurting the show, Clayton explained that it will not be the case at all. The actress even threw shade at Ameen, hinting that Toby Onwumere will be a better fit for the role of Capheus.

Some fans were quite baffled as to why Clayton hated Ameen so much. Many were quite hopeful that the original Sense8 cast will be together come Season 2. Immediately coming to her defense, Clayton insisted that Ameen leaving had nothing to do with the actor being transphobic.

“I never said that! Change can be hard but, I’m staying positive for the show & the fans! Let’s choose happiness!” she tweeted.

In other news, Sense8 producer Lana Wachowski shared several behind-the-scenes photos on Tumblr from Season 2. Based on the pictures, it seems like fans can expect quite a lighter season this 2017. There is clearly a lot of parties, not to mention romantic and action-filled moments.

“It was while shooting the Big Cluster Birthday Bash, we wished there was a way for our fans to experience,” Wachowski wrote.
