Both Of The ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Movies Are Getting Major Changes
Everyone knows that Avengers: Infinity War is going to be a huge film that incorporates dozens and dozens of Marvel characters. It will be split into two films because it is just going to be that big as it closes out Phase 3 and welcomes in Phase 4. Now, the Russo brothers have announced that both parts of the film will undergo some major changes before the actual release, and those changes could be very telling to the plot.
Both films are going to be “two very different movies,” Joe Russo has announced. They’re not going to simply be two parts of one story that needed to be split in half due to it being too long of a movie.
Anthony Russo says that “it is misleading” for the Marvel films to be labeled as “Part 1” and “Part 2,” because that isn’t what they truly are.
Joe and Anthony Russo have now revealed that both parts of the final Marvel Phase 3 films are going to get new titles. Yes, “Infinity War” is not what either one of the movies will end up being called, Joe confirmed to Uproxx.
“The intention is we will change it, we just haven’t come up with the titles yet. But, yes, we will change it. And, yes, that is a scoop: we will retitle them.”
This adds so many questions to things and really makes the whole spectrum a bit more complicated, confusing, and fun. In Marvel Comics, there are numerous crossovers such as the “Infinity Gauntlet,” “Infinity Abyss,” and “Infinity Crusade.”
Thanos has been a huge part of that storyline on many different occasions, and it is known that he will be in the final two-part film. The incredible villain will be played by Josh Brolin and has already shown his face in a couple of post-credits scenes.
It’s not known if the Russo brothers are going to use one of those titles for one film or both films, but then again, they may not use them for either. The Infinity Gauntlet and its stones have been a big part of the storyline arc across numerous films thus far.
Joe and Anthony Russo could simply reveal the title soon, or they may let it come forth with the release of one of the upcoming movies in Phase 3.
May 6: Captain America: Civil War
November 4: Doctor Strange
May 5: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
July 7: Spider-Man: Homecoming (Marvel/Sony)
November 3: Thor: Ragnarok
March 8: Captain Marvel
May 3: Avengers: Infinity War, Part 2
With the first part of the final Avengers film still two years away, it could be a while before the title is actually revealed. The conclusion is a full three years away, which gives a long life to Phase 3, and the Russo brothers are making it as exciting as possible for the fans.
Considering there will be close to 70 different Marvel characters in the movies, it’s hard to think that things could get more fun, but they are.
Avengers: Infinity War is not going to be called that for much longer, as Marvel and the Russos are going to be changing the names of both parts. With the films both getting new titles, fans have a lot more to think and dream about now. Once the titles are revealed, it will have fans debating who is in it and what will happen even more than they are now. As Captain America: Civil War hits theaters, the Russo brothers truly know how to keep fans happy.
