Prince Charles’ Mad ‘Infatuation’ With Barbra Streisand Spilled In New Book

A new book claims Prince Charles had a mad “infatuation” with singer Barbra Streisand that lasted several decades. The British royal and Streisand were purportedly so close that Princess Diana “would not have been surprised if they had an affair,” a close friend of the princess’ said.

According to Page Six, the report reveals that Charles and Streisand met back in 1974 when the prince was 26-years-old. At the time, he was an officer in the Royal Navy, docked in L.A. He was given the choice of meeting any Hollywood star that he wanted, and he chose her. The Daily Mail reports that their encounter consisted of a 20-minute meeting and a mug of coffee.

Allegations made about Prince Charles and Barbra Streisand come from a book by Christopher Andersen, author of Game of Crowns. The book is published by Simon and Schuster, and can be ordered on Amazon.

Charles had seen Streisand in the 1968 film Funny Girl three times, and was rumored to have kept a framed photo of Streisand on his wall at Cambridge and in his private quarters in Buckingham Palace. He even told his personal valet about wanting to meet Barbra. It was thought that Charles might wish to meet someone like Raquel Welch, but Streisand was his “only pinup.”

According to the book, Streisand seemed “nervous” and “tight-lipped” in her encounter with Charles in 1974.

“Who knows? If I’d been nicer to him, I might have been the first real Jewish princess,” she joked.

In 1994, Streisand bumped into the prince once again when they attended an L.A. gala. According to British author Harold Brooks-Baker, the two “had a secret rendezvous at his suite in the secluded Bel-Air Hotel” — it was officially booked as a “private tea.”

A source says the prince and Streisand met at another event 10 months later in London.

“The prince and Miss Streisand were very affectionate to one another,” the book claims. “Another housekeeper described Charles and Barbra as acting ‘quite flustered’ when she surprised them in Charles’ study.”

These are some serious claims being thrown at Prince Charles and Barbra Streisand. The book goes on to reveal that Diana’s close confidante, Lady Elsa Bowker, spilled that the princess “would not have been surprised if they had an affair.” At the time, however, Charles was having his affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles. Strangely, Bowker adds that Camilla would have been “absolutely thrilled” about Charles spending time with Streisand.

“That would have excited her,” Bowker said.

A rep for Streisand hasn’t responded to the book’s claims.

In 2014, the Inquisitr wrote a related story revolving around Prince Charles and his supposed infatuation with Streisand. Tabloids ran with the rumor that Charles and Camilla were divorcing over the scandalous affair. Clearly it was a fabricated report, given the fact no divorce papers have been filed and the royal couple are still very happily married.

There were also details from Streisand’s biography, Barbra – The Way She Is, that revealed how Charles “went to great lengths to keep details secret and away from both Camilla and Fleet Street.”

In his single days, Charles was known as one of the most eligible bachelors in the world. He was often seen being affectionate with women and was pictured with several Hollywood actresses during formal events. Once he married Princess Diana, however, that world seemingly stopped for him. Some reports indicate that perhaps it still carried on, but less so and in a more discreet manner.

Do you think Prince Charles acted on his alleged “infatuation” with Barbra Streisand?
