Miley Cyrus Still Believes She’s Engaged Despite Liam Hemsworth’s Denial

Miley Cyrus allegedly still believes she’s engaged to Liam Hemsworth despite the actor telling reporters last week that the two are not preparing to wed.

According to a new report by Hollywood Life, despite Hemsworth’s recent denial, Miley is still wearing the engagement ring Liam originally gave her when he first popped the question in 2012 and reportedly believes that a wedding is still on the horizon.

“Miley feels that they are engaged and will get married,” a source close to the newly reunited couple recently alleged, adding that Liam doesn’t consider the two to be engaged again because he has not officially popped the question for the second time.

Noting that Hemsworth is “more traditional” that Miley, the insider told Hollywood Life that Liam “believes that he would have to ask for her hand in marriage again” to make an engagement official but is still “very happy” to be back together with Cyrus.

“He is more traditional, where Miley is resorting back to the relationship they had before they broke up,” the source continued of Liam, also clarifying that it “depends on who you ask” as to whether or not Hemsworth and Cyrus are actually engaged for the second time.

“They just have different ideas where they officially stand right now,” the Cyrus insider added.

Claims that Miley and Liam may not actually be engaged again come after Hemsworth recently denied the reports that he’d popped the question to Miley in an interview with Australia’s TV Week at the end of March

After the actor was quizzed about his widely reported re-engagement to Cyrus, Liam bluntly replied, “I am not engaged, no,” dispelling rumors that the two were preparing for a wedding.

Rumors that the two had reconciled and were planning to walk down the aisle began to swirl at the beginning of the year after Cyrus noticeably showed off her original engagement ring in an Instagram post uploaded on January 18.

Although Cyrus and Hemsworth neither confirmed nor denied reports that they were officially engaged at the time, Us Weekly claimed in January that Miley Cyrus believed she and Liam Hemsworth were re-engaged and even decided to start wearing her original engagement ring.

Miley opted to wear the ring and, despite never receiving a formal proposal from the actor, assumed they were engaged again, according to a source, who revealed that “Liam noticed” that Cyrus had starting wearing the ring and the two began “telling friends they’re engaged.”

But while the status of their engagement is still up in the air, a source revealed to People earlier this year that the two are very much back together as a couple and Miley is “beyond happy” to be in a relationship with Hemsworth once again.

“Miley is beyond happy,” a Cyrus insider revealed to the site in January, who also claimed that the two were engaged and noted that Cyrus and Hemsworth are doing everything they can to make their romance stick the second time around.

An insider confessed to People that Cyrus and Hemsworth have been “making changes for their relationship to work” since reconciling at the beginning of the year and “both seem much more mature” than when they first decided to call off their wedding plans back in 2013.

People also reported at the time that Miley “wants to get married” to Liam and even has his family on board for the two to walk down the aisle.

“His family was very hesitant about a marriage in the past, but they really got to know Miley better,” the source said, “Everyone seems excited that they are back together.”
