Does Selena Gomez New Song Lyrics Send Justin Bieber A Cryptic Message?

Selena Gomez just teased a new song the pop artist is working via Snapchat, leaving fans wondering if the singer is asking ex-beau Justin Bieber about his dreams, Hollywood Life reported on Sunday.

In the short video clip, Selena Gomez seductively suggests that the person she is singing to is having a hard time sleep. “Do you stay up late, just so you don’t dream” is the only words fans and followers of the “Hands To Myself” singer can hear before the clip ends.

If the lyrics are meant to be about Justin Bieber, it’s no shock. Selena Gomez seems to be making little to no effort to reconcile with Justin Bieber, a move that has full support from her close friends.

That was on full display last week when Selena Gomez was at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. When it was announced that Justin Bieber would also be in appearance, many thought the two might share a reunion of sorts. Instead, Selena Gomez took every opportunity to avoid him. The frosty reception began on the red carpet. As Selena Gomez was on her way to take photos, she and Justin Bieber crossed paths, but both ignored each other.

Selena Gomez might have also strategically avoided watching Justin Bieber on stage. The pop singer sang a medley of songs from his latest album Purpose, including “Love Yourself” and “Company.” While Selena Gomez had made her entrance to the awards show before he took the stage, she didn’t sit at her table until Justin Bieber had finished singing.

Where Selena Gomez went is unknown, but her gal pal Taylor Swift remained at the table. After Justin Bieber finished his performance, Taylor Swift looked less than impressed. As The Inquisitr reported, her reaction was a little shady.

Justin Bieber — who showed off his new hair style — went on to win the award for Male Artist of the Year and perhaps demonstrating her good nature about the whole thing, Selena Gomez smiled and cheered along with the rest of the crowd and even stood for a standing ovation. For her part, Selena Gomez was nominated for Female Artist of the Year but lost out to Taylor Swift. Selena Gomez was very happy and excited for her friend and cheered her along.

Selena Gomez did win the Triple Threat award for her ability to not only sing but to act and dance as well. Accepting the award from Pete Wentz, Selena Gomez was humble and gracious. Her acceptance speech was extremely thankful toward her fans.

“Thank you so much for honestly, for listening. For buying music. This isn’t ever my award. This is every person who is listening and watching. You’re the reason I do what I do.”

Ever since Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber officially broke up in 2013, reports have swirled of the two singers getting back together. Justin Bieber has seemed to be more overt in his pursuit of Selena Gomez, frequently posting pictures on his Instagram account of the two back when they were dating. Just two weeks ago, he posted a picture of him and Selena Gomez kissing when they were still a couple.

For her part, Selena Gomez seems torn about whether getting back together with Justin Bieber is what she wants or not. She has been linked to singer Charlie Puth recently, but as Hollywood Life reports, was in attendance at Justin Bieber’s LA concert in March. The two then spent time together at the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel, eating and drinking at the restaurant and bar.

Selena Gomez may be ready to start a relationship again, whether it is Justin Bieber or someone else, but the singer has kept herself professionally busy recently. Her Revival album was a huge hit and she continues to star in quality films. The Fundamentals of Caring starring Paul Rudd will air on Netflix in June, and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, starring Seth Rogen and Zach Efron, will be in theaters May 20, 2016.

At only 23 Selena Gomez is a successful, career-oriented woman who has a solid group of friends. Perhaps it best if she leave the drama between Selena Gomez and the on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber presents behind.
