NFL Rumors: San Francisco 49ers Drafting Myles Jack
NFL rumors are swirling around Myles Jack. As one of the most versatile football players coming out of the college ranks, he is generating some serious attention around the league. A lot of people in the National Football League believe that he can be an impact player. The San Francisco 49ers are one of the teams that are looking into the former UCLA Bruins star. According to NFL, Jack is visiting with the franchise for an evaluation.
Myles Jack has visited with several NFL teams that want him to join their roster. The Baltimore Ravens would love to find themselves another Ray Lewis, an inside linebacker that was the anchor to their dominating defense for years. Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn has a defensive background, and he would love to have someone like Jack as the centerpiece of a Seattle Seahawks-inspired defense. Myles would allow Quinn to experiment with his scheme.
With Patrick Willis and Navorro Bowman manning the defense, the San Francisco 49ers were able to dominate opponents. They also made it easier for their offense. Niners starting quarterback Colin Kaepernick was able to make an easy transition to the NFL because he didn’t need to play catch up. The defense had things locked down. Kaepernick didn’t need to worry too much about making mistakes.
While most teams are concerned about injuries, the San Francisco 49ers are especially worried about that. They saw what happened to their defense when Navorro Bowman went down with an ACL injury of his own. Having two injury-prone inside linebackers will keep new defensive coordinator Jim O’Neil up at night. The Niners have already witnessed Chris Borland walking away from the game at a young age because he was concerned about his long term health.
When you are coming off of a serious ACL injury, and NFL teams still consider you to be a top 10 talent, then that means you are seriously considered a game changer. Myles Jack might be one of those rare generational players that we only see once in a while. The National Football League is always looking for stars because they draw in fans. Jack might be that guy.
