WWE News: AJ Styles Talks Possible Dream Matches, Wants To Wrestle John Cena And Randy Orton

WWE fans have been salivating over the abundance of possible dream matches for AJ Styles since “The Phenomenal One” arrived in the company back in January. Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Cesaro, and Finn Balor are all guys who fans are dying to see Styles get in the ring with at some point, and it’s almost a guarantee that he’ll end up wrestling all four of those men at some point during his WWE tenure.

Styles appeared on Chris Jericho’s podcast, Talk is Jericho, shortly after making his WWE debut, and he was asked if there was someone in WWE currently that he would love to wrestle, and he was quick to name Neville. But, that match won’t be happening any time soon, as Neville is currently recovering from a leg injury that he suffered several weeks ago on RAW.

Now, with Neville out of the picture temporarily, Styles now has two guys that he would like to get in the ring with at some point in the future, and they’re both guys who have been on top in the company for over a decade.

Sam Roberts of Sirius XM recently sat down with “The Phenomenal One,” and he asked him about who he would like to face in the future, and he quickly named both John Cena and Randy Orton as two of his dream opponents. He also said that he hasn’t gotten the opportunity to meet Cena or Orton due to the fact that they’ve both been injured for the last several months.

“You know, I haven’t even met John Cena or Randy Orton yet because they’ve been injured. So, I think that’ll be a cool moment when I finally get to get in the ring with one of those two guys.”

John Cena had a brief interaction with AJ Styles right before Styles made his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble, as Cena posted a photo of the former TNA and IWGP Heavyweight Champion on his Instagram page. Styles then responded by posting a photo of Cena on his own Instagram page, which led many to believe that the two men will be in the ring with one another at some point after Cena returns from injury.

Styles vs. Randy Orton hasn’t really been talked about as a possible dream match. But, it’ll be a fantastic match whenever it does end up happening.

Styles also named Cesaro as someone who he would like to have a one-on-one match with. Of course, that would be a fantastic match, and we did get to see a brief preview of what it would be like on this past Monday’s RAW in the No. 1 contender’s fatal-four-way match, which Styles ended up winning.

It’s been quite a week for “The Phenomenal One,” as he finally made his WrestleMania debut this past Sunday against Chris Jericho, and now, he’s set to face Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Payback on May 1.

After this past Monday’s RAW went off the air, Styles stayed in the ring, and he received a huge standing ovation from the live crowd. The ovation ended up bringing “The Phenomenal One” to tears, and he’ll almost certainly be a huge fan-favorite going into has match with Roman Reigns, as Reigns is one of the most disliked wrestlers in the entire company right now.

It doesn’t seem likely that WWE will have Styles defeat Reigns on April, and become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. But, you never know — a lot can happen in the next four weeks, and WWE may end up deciding to take the title off of Reigns.
