Miranda Lambert Is Dating Anderson East But Will Release New Songs About Blake Shelton?

As Miranda Lambert enjoys her new romance with Anderson East, she is reportedly working on a new album that could feature songs about her former husband, Blake Shelton.

Miranda Lambert had a busy week. In addition to attending the Academy of Country Music Awards over the weekend, Rolling Stone revealed on April 6 that the 32-year-old also took part in a surprise performance during a Carrie Underwood performance at an ACM event. And that’s not all!

After taking in the festivities of the Academy of Country Music Awards, Miranda Lambert, who was joined on the red carpet by boyfriend Anderson East, revealed she’s working on a new album and has tons of emotions to pour into it after having a quite eventful year.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight on April 3, Miranda Lambert revealed that after taking a professional break following her July 2015 divorce from Shelton, she’s been “writing a ton” and is ready to start making hits.

“I’ve been off the road a little bit, so I’ve been able to kind of go into the creative mode, which is good,” Miranda Lambert explained. “I’ve been in Nashville a lot, so I’ve really been able to write a lot with friends. I’m not rushing trying to get a project done, just taking my time, enjoying it, going to see live music. Just kind of being in it. Just getting creative. That’s what I do. That’s what I love the most.”

Also during her interview with Entertainment Tonight, Miranda Lambert dished on her stunning yellow gown for the ACM Awards, which she paired with a pair of pink heels.

“Yellow’s a happy color,” Miranda Lambert explained. “I hardly ever wear yellow, but it had some rock and roll to it. And I had on heels with a gun and holster on them — can we talk about that? Hot pink with a tiny gold pistol, I was like, ‘Yes, these are the shoes!'”

According to an E! News report, East “was a little nervous” about walking the red carpet with his girlfriend but was “so happy to be there by Miranda’s side.”

Miranda Lambert and East, who began dating in December 2015, were seen chatting backstage. According to an eyewitness, they were very affectionate and stayed close throughout their night. The eyewitness also revealed that East was extremely attentive to his girlfriend.

Also in attendance at the Academy of Country Music Awards was Miranda Lambert’s ex-husband, Shelton, who performed his newest single, “Came Here to Forget,” in which he sings of moving on from a relationship and embarking on a new one.

Luckily, Miranda Lambert and Shelton didn’t encounter one another at the show, but according to a source, it wouldn’t be the worst thing if they had. After all, they were married for years and have been apart for nearly one year now.

Miranda Lambert “was not nervous at all” about seeing Shelton, the source explained.

“She is in a totally different space than [she was] months ago. She has no issues with Blake and is happy that he is in a good place in his life and also in love.”

“Blake and [Miranda Lambert] were married, so they are not strangers. Miranda will always have a certain love for Blake, but the romantic and forever feelings are gone,” the source added.
