WWE Rumors: WWE Teasing Reunion Of The Shield — Could There Be A Heel-Turn Return Of The Popular Stable?

Roman Reigns is the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and the majority of the fans really can’t stand him. Dean Ambrose is pretty much in limbo and doesn’t have much of a direction after losing to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32. Seth Rollins is still out due to injury, but he could be back before anyone knows it. Now, WWE has thrown out an odd tease of The Shield possibly reuniting and a heel turn for them wouldn’t be a bad idea.

For about two years now, The Shield has been going their own ways even though Ambrose and Reigns still appear to back one another. Fans are tired of Reigns, and some WWE legends believe that he needs to turn heel in order to be accepted.

While there has been no real indication that The Shield is going to reunite, it is worth noting that WWE has still brought attention to the team. WWE.com has a video on their main page as of Thursday afternoon that details “5 Teams who beat The Shield.”

The Shield was an overly dominating force in WWE, and for quite some time, they even held the WWE Tag Team Titles (Reigns and Rollins) and the United States Title (Ambrose). Still, there were some teams that were able to get the better of them.

In the video, the teams that beat The Shield were as follows.

  • Daniel Bryan, Kane, and Randy Orton
  • The Usos and Christian
  • Mark Henry, Big Show, and Rob Van Dam
  • Cody Rhodes, Goldust, and Daniel Bryan
  • The Wyatt Family

Fans would love see the original Hounds of Justice come back together to take on The Wyatt Family, The Usos, The New Day, and any number of the NXT call-ups that have arrived recently.

Over the WrestleMania weekend, Seth Rollins was spotted at the Hall of Fame, around the WWE hotel, and numerous other locations. Yes, he was walking with a limp still, but his rehab from serious knee injuries appears to be going well.

When he went out with the knee issues in early November, it was said that he would be out for six to nine months before a return. It’s now been five months, and there is a chance that Seth Rollins could be back in the ring by the summer.

He could end up returning before that to fit into a storyline — maybe a reunion of The Shield — and just not participate in the ring yet.

WWE may have done more post a video to hint at a reunion of The Shield. On Monday Night Raw, AJ Styles became the number one contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship currently held by Roman Reigns.

PW Mag believes that Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson could make their debut to help Styles win the title, likely at Payback in early May. If this happens, then it could bring about anger from Reigns, who needs back-up, and so he makes calls to Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.

Not only would that reunion make the fans happy, but a feud between The Shield and The Bullet Club (or whatever they end up being called) would make everyone ecstatic. Right now, there are a lot of things that would need to go into that program happening, but the seeds have been planted.

The new WWE World Heavyweight Champion is a bit of a loner and doesn’t have a whole lot of backing or support. Roman Reigns could really use some back-up even though he’s “the guy,” and it sure like he doesn’t care much what the fans think. With Seth Rollins coming back soon and Dean Ambrose lost and his mind in lunacy, a heel version of The Shield could be returning soon.
