Brandon Bourbon Missing: Former Kansas University Running Back Not Seen Since Saturday, Friends Ramping Up Efforts To Find Him
Brandon Bourbon has been missing since Saturday night, and friends and family of the former Kansas University running back are ramping up their efforts to find him.
The Missouri State High Patrol added Bourbon to their missing persons list on Monday after family members reported that he had been missing for nearly two days. The report noted that the 24-year-old Bourbon was last seen April 2 in Washington Count, Missouri.
There had been some rumors that Brandon was active on Facebook, but his mother cleared that up with a Facebook post of her own on Monday saying that the family was still looking for him.
“Looking for my son Brandon K. Bourbon. He’s not been heard from by anyone who knows him since Saturday evening. There is some incorrect information on Facebook that he was active a few hours ago. That was is on his computer. Please keep an eye out for him!”
Friend Devin Hampton added a longer update, noting that Brandon made a post to social media before his disappearance. Hampton noted that Bourbon’s last known whereabouts appeared to be Vienna, Missouri, about an hour from where Bourbon attended high school.
“ATTENTION: This is not fiction. Our beloved homie, Brandon K. Bourbon has not been in contact with anyone since 7:30pm April 2 via text. He is officially a missing person. Shortly before this he posted a story to snapchat and shared a video on Facebook a bit later. Other than this the last known location of Brandon, from the find my iPhone app, was at 9:00am April 3 in Vienna, MO, an hour and away from Potosi, MO. Anyone with information, please law enforcement or myself. Again, this is not fiction. Help bring the guy home.”
Bourbon was a running back at Kansas from 2010 to 2014. In his junior year he finished fourth on the team in both rushing and receiving, scoring three touchdowns. Bourbon transferred to Washburn in his last season, where he rushed for 937 yards and scored four touchdowns.
Bourbon appeared to have a promising football career after coming out of Potosi High School as a top-ranked recruit, but battled a number of leg and knee injuries during his time at Kansas.
With little signs of his whereabouts, many friends and family have joined in the effort to search for Brandon Bourbon. Former teammates spread the word on social media, asking anyone with information about Bourbon’s disappearance to come forward.
