Susan Sarandon And Debra Messing Are Fighting Over Donald Trump
Susan Sarandon found herself at the center of major criticism when comments during an MSNBC interview were taken out of context. As the Inquisitr reported, Sarandon said that GOP frontrunner Donald Trump may cause a revolution and that people are leery to vote for Hillary Clinton.
After expressing that Trump might be a better candidate than Clinton, the liberal actress received criticism from actress Jamie Lee Curtis and Debra Messing.

While Curtis left it alone with one tweet, Debra Messing persisted to tweet Susan Sarandon, and the two fought over politics back and forth. Messing, who is supporting Hillary Clinton, called Sarandon’s stance “insane.”
Susan Sarandon muses tht Trump prezcy wud b better 4 the country thn Hillary.Wonder if she’d say that if she were poor,gay,Muslim or immgrnt

1-What kind of revolution?! A WALL?! #ImWithHer but if it’s Bernie/Trump I will ABSOLUTELY support BS. https://t.co/nqPGCDStCX

2- the idea that Susan Sarandon wud say that NOT supporting Hillary in a HRC/Trump race is a legitimate choice for Democrats, is insane.

Agreed Trump doesn’t, but she is not protective till it’s easy. Bernie makes morally correct choices when unpopular. https://t.co/28QVTpA4rI

1-You are not a first time voter.Your position,as a life long advocate 4 the underepresented,is what matters to me. https://t.co/oLueAHCaUe
— Debra Messing (@DebraMessing) March 30, 2016
2-Your voice is powerful and influential. You not clearly disavowing Trump implies that u consider him (vs Hillary) https://t.co/oLueAHCaUe
— Debra Messing (@DebraMessing) March 30, 2016
3- There are people who need protections, and B Bernie or Hillary have that as a priority. Trump does not. https://t.co/oLueAHCaUe

The two continued to fight by retweeting articles arguing with their respective opinions.
At one point Rosie O’Donnell and Kathy Najimy got involved in the all-out Twitter war between Debra and Susan.
@SusanSarandon U & I have marchd togethr in pro choice & pro lgbt marches on washington. how, w/ any conscience evn hint tht Ud vote 4 trump
— kathy najimy (@kathynajimy) March 31, 2016
Sarandon replied to the tweet by saying, “I don’t ‘hint.’ It’s important to understand that principled people, especially environmentalists. may not vote for a fracking candidate. That doesn’t mean they vote Trump. How’s @DebraMessing?”
Rosie O’Donnell, who has had her own personal feud with Donald Trump, surprisingly backed Susan Sarandon up.
@SusanSarandon – fracking and monsanto – i agree
u = articulate – informed – passionate – inspirational – as always

If you need a recap of the situation that led to the barrage of tweets, Sarandon is supporting Bernie Sanders, and during her interview with All In With Chris Matthews, she explained why some voters are being swayed away from Democratic hopeful Hillary Clinton.
“I think, in certain quarters, there’s growing concern that the folks that are into Bernie Sanders have come to despise Hillary Clinton or reject Hillary Clinton and that should she be the nominee, which is as yet undetermined, they will walk away.
“I think a lot of people are like, ‘Sorry, I just can’t bring myself to vote for [Hillary Clinton].’ ”

This is of course an interesting argument to make on why Bernie Sanders will have a lead over Donald Trump if he gets the nomination over Clinton. Sarandon went after Clinton for her policies and actions while raising money for her campaign.
“She accepted money for all of those people. She doesn’t even want to fight for a $15 minimum wage. So these are people that have not come out before. So why would we think they’re going to come out now for her, you know?”
She continued, “It’s dangerous to think that we can continue the way we are with the militarized police force, with privatized prisons, with the death penalty, with the low minimum wage, threats to women’s rights and think you can’t do something huge to turn that around.”
