Queen Bey Empowers Women With New AthLeisure Line Starring Video Of Blue Ivy

According to People, when Beyoncé wanted to introduce a new clothing line that featured leisure athletic wear, she didn’t need to go far to find her first inspiration: her charming daughter, Blue Ivy. She recalls things that made her feel empowered, triumphant, and energized — the things she wanted for her own daughter. She recalls the way her father would awaken her in the morning to go running.

“I’d wake up in the morning, and my dad would come knocking on my door and tell me that it’s time to go running. I remember wanting to stop, but I would push myself to keep going. He taught me discipline. And I would think about my dreams. I would think about the sacrifices my parents made for me. I would think about my little sister and how I was her hero. I would look at the beauty around me. The sunshine through the trees. I would keep breathing. There are things I’m still afraid of. When I have to conquer those things, I still go back to that park. Before I hit the stage, I go back to that park. When it was time for me to give birth I went back to that park. The park became a state of mind. The park became my strength. The park is what made me who I am. Where’s your park?”

The clothing, appropriately entitled Ivy Park, has an adorable video of Blue Ivy with a voice-over of Beyoncé talking about the things and people that have encouraged her and shaped her throughout the years. While the leisure line is a athletic wear, it’s meant to be curves-friendly, helping women to gain their self confidence and finding their “park,” as Beyoncé did, while she pressed on to work out and become a major recording artist and fashion icon.

Blue Ivy, the daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, is known for her friendly public appearances and her natural hair — Beyoncé keeps it styled in a casual afro without the help of relaxers or other chemicals, seeming to want to give out the message that all girls have their own beauty and should embrace it.

The line Ivy Park will launch at TopShop on April 14, and features Ivy Park emblazoned shirts and shower sandals, some typically Beyoncé sexy bodysuits and much more, promising something for every fitness lover or fashionista.

Beyoncé, who has become known as “Queen Bey” in popular culture, is known for her trendsetting music, dance moves, and limit-pushing outfits. She has become a prominent figure in the African American beauty culture, with her chiseled curves and toned body and even more confident personality and sense of fashion. With her new endeavors, she is also showing that she is quickly becoming every bit the entrepreneur her husband Jay-Z is, and making a name for herself independently in the mogul world. So many are mesmerized by Beyoncé, once the front-woman of Destiny’s Child, that there is even a religion that is dedicated to her — how many followers and how they worship is unclear.

What is clear is that Beyoncé is by no means finished with her mark on popular culture or the lives of young girls. A favorite of Barack Obama’s daughters, she frequently sings lyrics that empower women to achieve their fullest potential, which seems to be a given factor for her own daughter, Blue Ivy. Not only will she grow up in the spotlight, she will grow with the talent and drive of two parents who are heavily dedicated to their successes personally, financially, and are sure to leave a legacy for the child. It’s appropriate her first clothing line has already been named after her.
