Rihanna Not Planning To Have A Baby With Drake, ‘Kiss It Better’ Singer’s Rep Denies Pregnancy Rumors
Rihanna and Drake may have fueled dating rumors following their dual “Work” music videos released last month, but that doesn’t mean the duo is planning to start a family together in the future.
Reunion rumors for Rihanna and Drake began promptly after the news of their “Work” collaboration made headlines earlier this year, only to be further fueled by the duo’s steamy onscreen and onstage chemistry during their performances of the new single. While neither Rihanna nor Drake have personally dispelled the dating claims, sources close to the duo are now speaking out against the rumors, suggesting that the former couple is planning to start a family together.
According to a new tabloid report published earlier this week, obtained via Gossip Cop, a supposed insider close to Rihanna suggests that the “Kiss It Better” singer “has the mommy urge” and is eager to start a family before noting that Rihanna and Drake have already discussed wanting to “have a baby together.”
The report further alleges that Drake is “completely on board” with the idea of starting a family with Rihanna, explaining that the duo “have talked about how cute their kids would be” and are prepared to be “forever linked if they have a child.”
In addition, the source explains that while Rihanna and Drake have no plans to get married, Rihanna feels that Drake will “make the perfect dad,” because he is “a grown man” and is “responsible compared to her exes like Chris Brown.” Rather than getting hitched, the source concludes by noting that Rihanna and Drake have discussed the idea of having “adjoining mansions in Barbados so they could co-parent and hook up whenever they wanted.”
Despite the claims, Gossip Cop reports that they have since reached out to a rep for Rihanna regarding the baby rumors, who insists that the “Work” collaborators are not planning on starting a family together. The site further notes that Rihanna’s rep referred to the allegations as “merely tabloid fantasy,” although it’s unclear if the rep commented on the ongoing dating speculation between Rihanna and Drake.
Last month, Tim Erem, who directed the duo’s “pink room” video for “Work,” weighed in with his thoughts on the ongoing Rihanna and Drake dating rumors by noting that while the duo may have some intense onscreen chemistry, he doesn’t believe that Rihanna and Drake are anything more than close friends.
“These are just two friends that are really close to each other. Just put them in front of the camera and that’s what they do,” Erem explained, according to EW. “Everyone’s asking, are they together or they this or are they that? No, they’re friends. They’re just amazing performers and they’re really close to each other.”
Similarly, Rihanna opened up about her single status in an interview with Vogue for the magazine’s April issue, telling the publication that her hectic schedule presents challenges when it comes to dating.
“It’s definitely going to be a challenge when I do decide to pursue a relationship…but I have hope!” Rihanna explained, noting that she’s only going to get “four days of tour rehearsal in total” before embarking on her “Anti World Tour,” which kicked off earlier this month after production delays.
While Drake and Rihanna further fueled the dating claims with their PDA-filled performance of “Work” during Rihanna’s tour stop in Miami earlier this month, it doesn’t appear that the duo have plans to get back together in the near future.
What do you think of the Drake and Rihanna dating rumors, will the duo reconcile in the future?
