Sylvester Stallone Spotted On Set Of ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 2,’ Rumored To Play role Of Ravager
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy 2 has reportedly begun filming, and sources claim that Sylvester Stallone will be joining the cast from the original movie.
According to reports, the Creed actor was spotted coming from the film’s set in Atlanta, and an unnamed source said that Stallone was holding what appeared to be a script when he was seen.
Some reports claimed that the veteran actor would only appear for a cameo role, while others said that Stallone will be donning a costume that is very similar to what he wore in Judge Dredd.

The insider said that the costume looks similar to the one worn by the Ravagers in the first film, a group led by Yondu (Michael Rooker). If this is true, then Stallone may be cast as one of the Ravagers, although it remains to be confirmed whether he will be a new Ravager or the leader of another group.
Other actors who will be playing Ravager members in the second film include Tommy Flanagan and Sean Gunn.

The Ravagers were a major factor in the first Guardians of the Galaxy film. It was Yondu who rescued a young Peter Quill, kidnapping him at the time. However, he did not return the kid to his mysterious father, and instead made him a member of his crew.
In the scenes taking place along the film’s time frame, Quill, who calls himself “Star Lord,” ventures out on his own and obtains the Orb, which was later on discovered to be an Infinity Stone.
Later on in the film, Quill and the other Guardians made a deal with Yondu to give him the Orb, in exchange for his help in defending Xandar from Ronan the Accuser’s attempt to destroy it.

The Guardians eventually won, but Quill tricked Yondu and did not give him the Orb,. It appears, though, that Yondu did not seem to mind it, probably because he sees Star Lord as someone dear to him.
Once again, in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, it is anticipated that the Ravagers will continue to play a big role in the Guardians’ adventures and missions. With the costume that Stallone is said to be wearing on the set, there is a possibility that he will be a Ravager as well.

Meanwhile, another report said that Stallone might not be cast in the upcoming film at all. Considering that he is friends with some of the cast members, the Rocky actor may have just paid his pals a visit.
It is also possible that director James Gunn will actually include a cameo appearance from Stallone’s Dredd character in the film. Of course, that is a little far-fetched, but given Gunn’s sense of humor, anything is possible.
Reports also confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will bring back the stars of the previous film: Chris Pratt as Star Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, and newcomer Pom Klementieff as Mantis.

Klementieff is notable for her role in the Josh Brolin flick Oldboy. She has yet to appear in any stills for the upcoming Marvel movie, but since filming has already begun, it will be a matter of weeks until we finally see some glimpses.
The Guardians sequel is directed by Gunn and produced by Marvel Studios. The target release date for the film is May 5, 2017, in the United States. Guardians is also a part of Marvel’s campaign to launch a Marvel movie each year.
