Watch India Vs. West Indies Cricket Online: Start Time For ICC World T20 Tournament Warm-Up

Fans can watch the India vs. West Indies cricket match live online and see the teams in their last chance to warm up before the World T20 Tournament begins this week.

The teams will face off on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. local time (2 p.m. GMT) from Kolkata.

For India, the match will be a chance to keep up the momentum from a successful run through the 2016 Asia Cup. The team steamrolled through the tournament, winning all matches including a nerveless chase of Bangladesh’s 120 in the final match. India will now look to repeat the success in the World T20 Tournament, where they come in as favorites.

India has its combination for the tournament set, and now will have a chance to practice and fine-tune their approach, NDTV reported. It will also be a chance for some individual players to get back into action.

“Since it’s a warm-up game, a little bit of spotlight will be on Mohammed Shami, even though the chances of the pacer making it to the XI when the tournament proper starts looks very grim,” the report noted.

“India’s frontline pacer less than a year back, Shami is struggling to return following a surgery on his troubled knee and failed in his brief attempt during the Australia tour earlier this year when he pulled a hamstring… His fitness will be assessed during the course of the two warm-up fixtures, against the West Indies and South Africa in Mumbai on March 12.”

Fans who watch the India vs. West Indies cricket match live online will also see if India can look past the distractions that the tournament brings. The team has been dealing with security questions regarding its upcoming match against Pakistan, and organizers even decided to change the venue after Pakistani officials raised concerns.

The ICC said there were fears that hostile crowds could try to disrupt the March 19 contest, the BBC reported.

“The PCB has also today conveyed to ICC and BCCI [Board of Control for Cricket in India] that our government is expecting an assurance to Pakistan against specific threats to the Pakistan team from various political parties and groups during the tour,” a Pakistan Cricket Board official said.

ICC officials agreed.

“I would like to confirm that the ICC has been assured by all relevant state authorities that all adequate security measure are in place and will be implemented to ensure that the event is staged in a safe and secure environment for all stakeholders,” said ICC chief David Richardson.

India will now try to shift its focus to the match against West Indies, who bring an experienced squad to the World T20 Tournament.

“We have 15 match winners in our team. When I see the dressing room with the likes of Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Andre Russell, my job becomes easy,” skipper Darren Sammy said.

“When the next edition happens (in 2020) many of our players would not be around, so the winning the title means a lot to us, it will give a massive boost back home,” he added.
