‘The 100’ Spoilers Season 3 Episode 8: Terms And Conditions Apply [Video]

The 100 has positioned Episode 8 of Season 3 to be the most memorable and lasting tribute to Lexa, but not without a little turmoil to go along with it. Episode 8 is titled “Terms and Conditions” and will be the beginning of a new era for the Sky People and the Grounders as the show embarks on the second half of its origin story and the potential for peace on the planet.

For those of you who are hardcore The 100 fans, you may be surprised to learn that in Episode 8, it is not all about grieving, but rather about regrouping and finding a way forward, according to TV Guide. The 100 is set in a post-apocalyptic world and in modern days, a show like this would take several episodes to grieve the loss of a major character. But, in this world, it is all about staying in front of things before they get you killed.

Before discussing Episode 8 of The 100, take a minute to see how viewers got to this point. In the last episode of the show, fans got a shocking and hurtful moment when they lost one of their most beloved characters, Lexa. Although many already know that Alycia Debnam-Carey (Lexa) is part of another huge show, Fear The Walking Dead on AMC. It was only a matter of time for the character to be killed off on The 100.

According to Entertainment Weekly, there was never any doubt that the last episode would be one of the most heart-breaking moments on The 100. It started with some of the information that fans of the show have been waiting a long time to see. It jumped back in time by 97 years and showed the onslaught of the artificial intelligence known as A.L.I.E. But, even though the original A.L.I.E. was responsible for killing off the people of Earth, at least most of them, there was an A.L.I.E. 2.0 in progress that was supposed to make up for that devastation.

That episode of The 100 gave fans a little more of the details about what exactly A.L.I.E. 2.0 was supposed to be. It was a program that was supposed to understand human behavior and emotions, which was also supposed to in some way make up for what the original A.L.I.E. did. But things went wrong on the space station and A.L.I.E.’s creator was cast out and took a hard landing back on the decimated Earth – with A.L.I.E. 2.0 on board.

The simple explanation is that A.L.I.E. 2.0 was supposed to be a chip for the Grounder commanders who kept it safe by splitting the eggs up in several baskets. That way it cannot be destroyed and remains hidden.

Fast-forward to the present (future) day and Lexa has declared a blockade and ordered all Sky People caught beyond the lines to be killed on the spot. But the order did not go into immediate effect. That gave Lexa and Clarke just enough time for a little romance before they split up.

Fans of The 100 got to see that endearing moment that they have all been waiting for on the show. The answer to the romance question has finally been answered and Clarke has officially chosen Lexa as her mate.

Titus sees things differently. When he gets Clarke alone, he decides he is going to take her out and not risk Lexa being compromised by her love for Clarke. He uses a Skikru weapon, but he is clumsy and she gets out of the way. Sure enough, Lexa was behind her to catch the bullet.

After a heartbreaking moment in Clarke’s arms, Lexa dies. The 100 does not seem like it will ever be the same. Titus also has to perform a death ceremony in her honor, quickly. So he turns her over and removes a gadget that comes out of the back of her neck. Murphy says it is an A.I., but Titus says that it is not. Rather, it is the spirit of their commandeer, but most likely A.L.I.E. 2.0.

In Episode 8 of The 100, Kane’s decision to find a peaceful solution will turn out to be a disastrous one and things do not go as planned. Drastic measures will be taken. There is also a fox in the henhouse at Arkadia and Pike reacts as expected.
