In the upcoming episode of Married At First Sight Season 3, the remaining couples, Sam and Neil and Tres and Vanessa, will have to decide whether to stay married or file for a divorce after the six-week social experiment.
In a sneak peek clip for “Final Decision,” viewers saw Sam tell Neil that she will ask for a divorce in the finale. She, however, immediately leaned over and kissed her husband, letting him know that she is actually just kidding around.
“I don’t know why she said that but I think a lot of that was her trying to get some sort of reaction from me and gauge what I was going to do,” Neil said.
Sam’s playful gesture totally surprised Neil and Married At First Sight Season 3 viewers given that the she has not been very affectionate towards her husband. When asked what changed, the reality star explained that she was merely trying to make the most of the time they have left together. Sam later shared that she was embarrassed with the way she acted and tried to play it off as a joke.
“You have to know how soft my lips were before you make a decision. Because what if my lips were like really chapped and like nasty, how horrible would that be like,” Sam told Neil.
The Married At First Sight Season 3 star explained that she wanted to show Neil a different side of her. While he acknowledged that she has been slowly opening up to him, Sam thought that it would not hurt to give him just a little push.
When asked if Neil has made his decision of whether to stay married to Sam or file for a divorce, he shared that he has yet to reach a decision. Although the changes in Sam’s attitude is definitely a welcome change, Neil pointed out that he could not just forget the way she treated him in the beginning.
“This can work, the progress and the changes that we both have made, there’s possibility there. But there’s also remnants of before and how all that has impacted me. I’m not sure how strong that is yet.”
In the leaked Married At First Sight Season 3 finale released by Amazon Prime, it was revealed that Neil was “fully committed” to “getting a divorce.” While Neil said several good things about Sam and how they have gotten close in the past last week, the reality star ultimately decided that it was best for them to part ways.
When Sam heard what Neil had to say, she ran off sobbing. According to Starcasm , Neil explained that the reason why he chose to file for a divorce was that he had been “very unhappy” with their marriage. Although they shared several happy times as a couple, he could not forget the way she treated him in the beginning.
In an interview with The Real Mr. Housewife , Sam admitted that she had been a bit harsh towards Neil during the first weeks of Married At First Sight Season 3 .
“It’s quite frustrating watching myself treat this amazing man so horribly. I understand everything happens for a reason, but there are times I want to punch that Sam right through the screen!”
The Married At First Sight Season 3 star shared that her husband did not deserve any of that. She explained that she only acted that way towards him because she was venting out all her frustrations on him.
“He is a great man and husband and watching myself makes me upset that I didn’t see it sooner.”
