Jarmecca ‘Nikki’ Whitehead: ‘Justice By Any Means’ Tells Story Of Lynda Whitehead, Whose Daughter Was Murdered By Evil Twins

Jarmecca “Nikki” Whitehead, the pretty African-American mother who was stabbed to death in her home six years ago, will have her story played out on TV One’s Justice By Any Means. In Monday night’s episode, Jarmecca “Nikki” Whitehead’s mother, Lynda Whitehead, will give her account of the tragedy, as well as how she worked so hard to make sure that whoever killed her daughter would pay for the crime. After a devilish murder plot fell apart, it was revealed that Nikki Whitehead’s own 16-year-old twin girls, Jasmiyah and Tasmiyah Whitehead, were the killers. Their story has been featured on Snapped, Evil Twins, and Dateline NBC.

It all took place in Conyers, Georgia, a quaint little area outside of Atlanta in 2010. Conyers was a beautiful place with gated communities and good schools, the kind of area where 34-year-old Jarmecca Whitehead believed was a good environment for her children. Sure, Jarmecca, had made many mistakes in her life, and the worst thing imaginable for her was to lose her girls to the streets. Conyers proved to be a place that would give them all the kind of security they needed. Unfortunately, nothing turned out as planned. Inside of Jasmiyah and Tasmiyah lurked a hateful resentment toward their mother that she could never have imagined — a hateful streak that would ultimately end her life.

The sheer brutality of what these girls did to their own mother was unnatural and sickening — the sort of crime that literally makes your stomach turn because this one involved a loving mother and her girls. The trail of blood told the grisly story. Jarmecca “Nikki” Whitehead was struck in the head with an object, and when she tried to get up she was stabbed and beaten. At one point, she reached the front door when she was dragged back and attacked again. Eventually, she was pulled into the bathroom, killed, and placed in the bathtub.

When officers arrived at the scene, Jasmiyah and Tasmiyah Whitehead told detectives that they found their mother, Jarmecca, dead when they arrived home from school. They were extremely upset, and video captured them as they kissed and hugged each other while calling for their grandmother and their mother. At firsts, detectives felt deep sympathy for these girls who had just lost their mom. But, something else happened. When they looked at the girls more closely, it was obvious that their eyes were cold and without emotion. Detectives also found bite marks and cuts on the girls hands.

A background check into the family history revealed that Jarmecca “Nikki” Whitehead was having problems with both of her daughters, and had grown afraid of them, since they had ganged up on her one time before. As detectives continued to search, they took a look at video surveillance at the school, which indicated that Jas and Tas had arrived about two hours late — not on time, as they had stated.

After several months, while the police put their case together, Jas and Tas believed that they had gotten away with murder. They were shocked when detectives arrived to take them into custody. Eventually, they confessed to killing Nikki Whitehead, but tried to say that it was self-defense. Prosecutors believed that Jas and Tas were resentful that they had to leave their permissive grandmother‘s home to move back home with their mother. They also think the murder was planned. Jasmiyah and Tasmiyah pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter. For that conviction, they received a 30-year sentence.

Thirty years sure doesn’t seem like enough time for Lynda Whitehead, who says she feels all alone now that her daughter, Nikki Whitehead is dead, and her granddaughters are doing time for her murder. Still, she believes that her granddaughters, who were known as sweet, happy girls by all of their elementary school teachers, deserved even more time and should never be allowed to walk the streets again. It’s a tragic end for two girls who were headed to college and for a mother who wanted nothing but the best for them.

The twins’ great grandmother, Della Frazier, still goes to see them at the prison when she can, according to an interview with Rockdale Citizen, where she stated that all of the trouble started when Nikki tried to come back into their lives and take control.

Be sure to tune in for Lynda Whitehead’s heartbreaking story on Justice By Any Means this Monday night at 10/9 p.m. central on TV One.
