Woman Who Waited Outside For Taxi Cab Was Allegedly Abducted And Gang Raped In Moving Vehicle – Then Was Thrown Out In Desolate Area

A 26-year-old woman, who was waiting outside for a taxi cab, was left traumatized after she was allegedly abducted and gang raped in a moving vehicle before being thrown out nearly two hours later in a desolated area, according to the Times of India.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on February 21, a woman – whose name has been withheld – of Gurgaon, India had just emerged from a bar with four of her friends on the third floor of Sahara Mall, and called a taxi cab to take her home.

When she left the mall, she started “walking down Beverly Park on MG Road,” as she waited for her taxi cab, and that’s when a white vehicle with four occupants – a woman and three men – stopped next to her. Before she could run or scream, it was reported that one of the male passengers quickly exited the vehicle and dragged her inside. She then realized that there were three male passengers and a woman, who was in the driver’s seat, inside of the vehicle.

It was not immediately clear what the three men said to the young woman prior to the rape, but it was alleged that when she tried to fight off her attackers, it was to no avail. The three men reportedly began raping the woman in the moving car as it traveled on Faridabad road.

Sources say that at approximately 2 a.m., the female driver stopped the vehicle near a desolated area, where the victim’s attackers threw her out of the vehicle. The victim later told police officials that as she was being thrown out, “the accompanying woman turned towards me and I recognized her as Sheeba, someone I know. But the three attackers were unknown.”

According to Hindustan Times, the woman stated that after being abducted and gang raped in the back of a moving vehicle, she was in a state of shock but somehow managed to make it home. The following morning, she reported the abduction and rape at the Vasant Kunj police station, where inspector Ashok Kumar stated that “an FIR has been registered under Section 376-D (gang rape) of IPC. The survivor’s medical examination has been done and a report is awaited. We’re looking for CCTV footage for visuals of the car.”

The woman also went to a city court on Tuesday where she recorded her “statement Section 164,” and she also filed a “case of assault” on the woman she knew as Sheeba, who was the driver of the car where she was gang raped.

Unfortunately, reports show that gang rapes in moving cars are not uncommon in India. Just last year, a woman of Delhi was allegedly abducted and ganged raped by four men in a moving car. Soon after, she was taken to a house where a fifth person raped her.

Another gang rape incident occurred just two months ago when another woman, 31, whose name was also withheld, of the same area reported that she was gang raped in a moving car that was traveling on Delhi-Haridwar road. But unlike the first two rape victims, the woman stated that she knew the three men that raped her, and that one of them was her fiance named Nakul.

She stated that Nakul asked her to join him as he traveled to Dehradun, and she agreed to go with him. However, she didn’t know that two other men were going to accompany them. The victim told police officials that she was gang raped by the three men in the car.

She was reportedly injured during the gang rape attack, and her attackers dropped her off at a local nursing home and fled. The rape victim later reported the incident, and a warrant was issued for their arrest. It is unclear if the three suspects were ever arrested as there have yet to be an update on the case.

However, an investigation is currently underway in the case of the 26-year-old woman who was allegedly abducted and gang raped while waiting on a taxi cab.
