Chris Brown Has ‘No Animosity’ Towards Drake And Rihanna Over ‘Work’ Video, Despite Rumors

Chris Brown and Rihanna may have called off their on-again, off-again relationship in 2013, but that doesn’t mean Brown holds any animosity towards his former girlfriend following the release of her new collaboration with Drake.

Earlier this week, Rihanna and Drake surprised fans with the release of not one, but two music videos in honor of their new collaborative track, “Work.” In the steamy videos, Rihanna and Drake can be seen grinding and dancing on one another while surrounded by a crowd of dancehall performers.

While Drake and Rihanna’s onscreen chemistry has ignited dating rumors for the former couple, sources close to Chris Brown say that the “Back To Sleep” singer is unbothered by his ex’s closeness to Drake in the duo’s dual music video.

“Chris [Brown] has no animosity against Rihanna or Drake,” a source close to Brown revealed to Urban Islandz. “In fact, he has a great relationship with her for quite a while now. So all these reports of [Chris Brown] being upset about [Drake and Rihanna] working together or being in a relationship are not true.”

Chris Brown’s reported insider also alleges that Brown has always been supportive of Rihanna’s music, noting that the singer “even worked with her on her new album after their split so there are no ill feelings on his part.”

In regard to rumors suggesting that Chris Brown recorded a track with Rihanna for her recently released eighth studio album, Anti, the source notes that the duo’s collaboration didn’t make the final cut for the project.

“[Rihanna] reached out to him for a feature and naturally he said yes,” the source adds. “Although the single was recorded it was not released on the final album but that was a decision for RiRi and her team.”

While neither Rihanna nor Chris Brown have confirmed the collaboration rumors, Brown did include a previously recorded collab with Rihanna titled “Counterfeit” on his Before the Party mixtape that dropped back in November, Hot New Hip Hop reports.

The news comes on the heels of reports suggesting that Chris Brown is upset by Drake and Rihanna’s chart-topping new single after the “Zero” singer shared a cryptic Twitter post to his account earlier this month.

In the post, Chris Brown shares, “One day at a time…Some days are better than others…love is love. Nothing bad will ever last.”

Despite Brown’s post having been published around the same time that Drake and Rihanna’s new collaboration made its online debut, fans were quick to point out that Chris’ post was likely in reference to his ongoing battle with baby mama Nia Guzman, who recently accused the singer of giving their 1-year-old daughter asthma from secondhand smoke exposure.

While Chris Brown and Rihanna have since sparked reunion rumors following the release of Brown’s Before the Party mixtape, Rihanna previously dispelled the reconciliation reports during her interview with Vogue in November in which she tells the mag that she and Brown “don’t have much of a relationship” following their split in 2013.

“I don’t hate him,” Rihanna explained while reflecting on her past romance with Chris Brown. “I will care about him until the day I die. We’re not friends, but it’s not like we’re enemies. We don’t have much of a relationship now.”
