Which Recent ‘Walking Dead’ Scene Just Got The Benny Hill Treatment?
So what happens when you take a scene from AMC’s The Walking Dead that is already comical and then set it to the Benny Hill theme song? Hilarity is what you get.
SPOILER ALERT: This article contains information about Episode 10, Season 4 of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Please proceed with caution if you have not yet seen this episode or wish to avoid spoilers.
So let me set the scene for you.
Episode 10 (entitled “The Next World”) of AMC’s sixth season of The Walking Dead aired last Sunday night. In it was a scene that many found comical — or as comical as a scene can be when it plays out on the canvas of the zombie apocalypse, at least.
Within this Walking Dead episode, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) had headed out for a supply run. In the process they come across the mother load: a working truck loaded up with food and various supplies that are helpful post-apocalypse, things like the toothpaste Rick’s new lady love, Michonne (Danai Gurira) had requested. So, for Rick at least, it looked like he was getting lucky when he returned back to Alexandria with the goods. However, Daryl, trying to get soda for Denise (Merritt Wever), suggested they make a pit stop at a service station so he could pick up his request. And this is where it all went a little left of center.
Rick and Daryl, not being ones to let something like this drop, pursued Jesus on foot and finally came across him as he was repairing the truck (which may or may not have been broken down. Perhaps Jesus was just trying to work out how persistent Rick and Daryl would be? But that is an debate for another day). So Rick and Daryl reclaim the truck, trying up Jesus and leaving him by the side of the road.
It is only when Rick and Daryl head across a paddock to search for the sorghum, Eugene (Josh McDerritt) had requested earlier in the Walking Dead episode, that they realize Jesus has hitched a ride. A good old fashioned chase follows with Rick behind the wheel of the truck and Daryl following Jesus on foot.
What do you think? Is the scene better or worse once this Walking Dead scene is set to the Benny Hill theme song? If you love it, you’ll be glad to know this is not the first time a Walking Dead scene has gotten the Benny Hill treatment.
Here’s just a couple more to get you started, but if you head on over to YouTube and type in the search term, “The Walking Dead Benny Hill,” you will find there are many more great scenes to chose from!
Season 6 of The Walking Dead is currently screening on AMC every Sunday night at 9/8c.
