Kris Jenner: Reports Kanye West Destroying Kardashian Brand Are ‘Unequivocally False’ [Video]

Although Kris Jenner can’t tell son-in-law Kanye West what to do, the mother of the Kardashian brood is proud to have him as part of her family nonetheless. Despite rumors that Kanye is destroying the Jenner brand, the rapper is doing nothing of the sort, according to Kris.

Page Six previously reported that Kris Jenner is afraid Kanye will bring her hard work at building the Kardashian brand crashing to the ground with his Twitter rants, feuds with Taylor Swift, and blow outs with Puma. An insider told the news site that Kris is “terrified” of West, and has ordered some emergency PR to mitigate the damage.

Kanye West reportedly has met with several different PR firms over the past few months, but due to the rapper’s reported instability, no one wants to work with him. In fact, one publicist, speaking anonymously, told Page Six that Jenner and West “couldn’t pay us enough to represent Kanye. He’s too much to handle.”

But some sort of PR work seems necessary, since, according to the insider, West and “[h]is Twitter rants are out of control, and Kris fears that he’s taking the family down.” To help, “Kris wants Kanye to hire someone to handle all the noise and drama so he can focus on being an artist.”

After feuding with Taylor Swift (again) while claiming on his new album The Life Of Pablo that he was the spark for her success, the latest Kanye West rant includes flying into a rage moments before appearing on Saturday Night Live because a lighting director asked SNL crew to remove the flooring on his set. The expletive-laden frenzy was secretly recorded, and leaked to the media.

In the rant, Kanye compares his cultural influence to “Stanley Kubrick, Picasso, Apostle Paul, f**king Picasso and Escobar,” claiming that he is “50 percent… more influential than any other human being.” West can also be heard advising those around him “[d]on’t f?**k with me. Don’t f**k with me. Don’t f**k with me.”

Regarding the outburst, an insider confessed that West wasn’t too concerned about the leaked audio, but talked to SNL‘s Lorne Michaels anyway. Adding that Kanye is “a provocateur,” the insider suggested that the odd behavior from West is simply the rappers own way of managing his PR. Kanye “knows how to generate a lot of interest and curiosity… The whole Twitter persona is a part of his art.”

Despite the negative press, Kris Jenner is not ashamed of Kanye West, and in fact, is quite proud of his accomplishments. Editor In Chief of Vibe magazine, Datwon Thomas, who has known Kanye for many years, indicated to the New York Post that West is simply a hardworking person who believes in his vision. According to Thomas, Kanye is “very focused musically. He put in the work. He’s even taken that drive to the fashion world.”

Although “Kris Jenner can’t tell him what to do,” since West is “not one of her kids,” according to the New York Post, the momager simply “adores Kanye and is proud to have him part of her family,” reports Entertainment Tonight. In fact, all the reports that Kris is “worrying about Kanye hurting their brand are 1,00,000 percent false — unequivocally false,” a source close to Jenner revealed to ET.

Kris also loved the Yeezy Season 3 line, telling reporters that her son-in-law is “so talented and he’s got such great vision.” Jenner also applauded Kanye’s “amazing force of creation when he’s in the studio.”

Meanwhile, Kris Jenner is fighting some bad PR currently. According to Entertainment Tonight, Jenner was booed so loudly at the iHeart80s Party in New York City that the audience couldn’t even hear what she was saying. There’s no explanation for the bizarre event, which will air on DirectTV’s AT&T Audience Network on March 18 at 9 p.m. Pacific.
