Is Chris Brown Getting Back With Karrueche Tran? He Apologizes In ‘Back To Sleep’

Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran dated for years after his highly-publicized split from Rihanna, but after it was revealed that the singer had fathered a child during their relationship, Chris Brown was promptly dumped.

For the last few months, there have been a number of Chris Brown-Karrueche Tran reconciliation rumors, but thus far, they have yet to be true. They may, however, see some truth in the coming weeks, as Chris Brown has recently poured his heart out in song.

Just days ago, Chris Brown was featured on a remix of Zayn Malik’s “Back to Sleep,” in which he is heard apologizing to Tran for “f——” around with other women.

“Now where you been, it’s been a year/ Baby I ain’t seen you, you know I miss you/ Baby let me love you back to sleep once more,” Chris Brown sings in the song, via People Magazine on February 21. “And I know we don’t speak no more/ But I just wanna tell you I’m sorry/ For f——’round with Keisha and MaKayla/ For all the Georgia peaches in Decatur/ For all these bitches in the elevator/ I just want you to love me/ Yeah baby don’t test me/ You know I’ll do it.”

Chris Brown then mentioned Tran by name, singing, “You want me to say your name girl?/ Okay, Karrueche!”

While Tran has not yet commented publicly on Chris Brown’s new song, a source claims she’s “flattered” by the song.

“[Chris Brown] has Kae shaking her head with a smile on her face. He just won’t stop trying to get back into her good graces,” the source told Hollywood Life on February 20. “No lie, she’s flattered he mentioned her in his song.”

According to the source, Tran was caught off guard by Chris Brown’s personal shoutout in “Back to Sleep,” and found it to be a “real and genuine” gesture. In addition, Tran’s fans and followers on Instagram have allegedly been contacting her in hopes of a reconciliation between her and Chris Brown.

“Her notifications have been blowing up today, with everybody telling her to call [Chris Brown],” the source continued. “The man is such a charmer it’s scary. Kae’s doing her best to keep her guard up. She’s still hurt. [Chris Brown] put her through the ringer and she’s still not over all the pain.”

After Chris Brown’s breakup from Tran in early 2015, the model went on to appear on Iyanla Vanzant’s Fix My Life, via Celebuzz, where she opened up about the betrayal she felt due to news of Brown’s daughter, Royalty.

During her interview, Tran told the host that she wanted to have a traditional life with Chris Brown, including a “white picket fence,” but unfortunately, that wasn’t what he wanted. Although Tran stuck around, despite their differing hopes for the future, she wanted more of a commitment from Chris Brown before having children, which they had discussed prior to his baby news, and didn’t get it.

After the sudden news of his secret child hit the web, Chris Brown attempted to win Tran back by sending her flowers, but at that point, too much damage had been done. Still, at the time, Tran told Vanzant that she knew Chris Brown loved her, but she still couldn’t allow herself to continue on with the relationship.

“I saw a different side of [Chris Brown] that not everybody sees. Although he’s done whatever he’s done… he’s a good-hearted person,” Tran said. “He’s a big kid with a good heart that’s been through some things, that’s been damaged.”
