Jax Taylor Gets Off Easy With Probation After Hawaii Sunglasses Arrest

Fans of Vanderpump Rules know that Jax Taylor got arrested last year for allegedly stealing sunglasses while in Hawaii on a trip for the show. Jax tried to act like it was all a mistake, but he did end up behind bars. Taylor was arrested, and lucky for him, his friends bailed him out. Now People is sharing that Jax Taylor has been sentenced, and if he behaves, then Jax won’t end up behind bars. For now, Jax Taylor won’t be in jail at all and will simply be on probation.

Jax did actually plead guilty to stealing the sunglasses, and he ended up being sentenced to 364 days of probation. If Jax can keep himself clean, then of course, he won’t end up in jail. The thing is, Jax Taylor will have to stay out of trouble, and everyone knows that isn’t always easy for Jax. He didn’t just get probation, but Jax Taylor also got $1,150 in fees and fines, as well as $350 to the store and $105 to the crime victim compensation fund.

In a court room video that was released, Jax Taylor shared his side of what went down in Hawaii when he took the sunglasses.

“I had too many drinks, too many mai tais. I made a mistake, took full responsibility and I understand this is going to follow me the rest of my life due to the fact that I’m on television. So I just want to say I’m sorry and I apologize.”

Taylor has never denied taking the sunglasses from Sunglass Hut, but Jax also hasn’t ever said that he was trying to steal them. The video showed him walking out of the store with them in hand.

Right now, Jax has his new girlfriend Brittany Cartwright, and she does seem to keep him in line. The two are doing great, and Jax is constantly sharing photos with her. When he was arrested, Taylor shared that he hated seeing the look of disappointment on her face, so hopefully Jax will keep his act together and not let something happen that puts him in jail. Brittany moved clear to California just to be with him.

Katie Maloney does seem to think that Jax Taylor will be just fine. She shared her thoughts on how he has been doing lately, and Jax really does seem to be growing up and getting his act together.

“He’s been on such good behavior. Jax has kind of grown up a bit. I think he realized that it’s not cute anymore to be this lying trouble maker causing fights between friends… I don’t know where this came from. It was such the old Jax that no one has seen in a while. There was really no excuse for it.”

Hollywood Life shared that, if Jax Taylor stays clean, his record will even be wiped clean. The thing is, everyone has heard about this arrest, and future employers will just need to do a quick search on his name and they will be able to find out about the arrest. Jax Taylor did get a pretty light sentence, but everyone is curious to find out if he can really stay out of trouble for almost an entire year.
