‘Doctor Strange’ Set Photos In London — ‘Daredevil’ And ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Connections [Rumors]

The Doctor Strange movie is shooting in London, and recent Twitter pictures have revealed the Sorcerer Supreme in what looks to be an action shot. The commotion going on looks to show Benedict Wong in his Wong costume. (Yes, the character’s name is as same as the actor’s.) Strange seems highly concerned as he rushes to his aid, as he’s been a long time companion to him. With Cumberbatch in the shot, is whom many believe to be Chiwetel Ejiofor playing the role of Baron Mordo, according to Comic Book Movie. Why would he be showing concern for Strange’s assistant? After all, they are arch-rivals in the comics.

Periscope and YouTuber Sanford Dickert was able to get about a 20-minute recording of the cast and crew of the Doctor Strange movie production going on in London. He was quite amazed with the set-up process and had ascertained that they chose that location to look more like the Upper East Side of New York City, which was an area that Dickert used to work. He figured the glassed building was a desirable location for the shoot. There were also pieces of what looked to be glass being poured out of buckets onto the sidewalk.

There was also a Doctor Strange “double” of sorts walking around in a red cape who noted the yellow costumed figured (probably Wong) laying on the ground. A caption popped up at the bottom, saying someone told him it was Strange’s master.

During an interview with Chiwetel Ejiofor and Captain America: Civil War’s Anthony Mackie, a question came about asking the pair which of the two films would be the best superhero movie of 2016. Ejiofor supported Doctor Strange, of course, but Mackie actually gave kudos to the Sorcerer Supreme movie, according to Cinema Blend.

Doctor Strange, just from the artwork that I have seen, it’s gonna be so different, so far out and so creatively stimulating that’s going to blow everything out of the water.”

This sounds rather promising, but also there are rather interesting rumors going around tying Doctor Strange to not only the Daredevil series, but also that of Thor: Ragnarok per Movie News Guide.

Rachel McAdams, well known for her role in The Notebook, has been cast for the movie, but no character is officially listed for her. She is rumored to be Night Nurse. In the comic book world, her character has an occupation to specialize in coming to the aid of injured or sick superheroes.

If you’ve watched Daredevil on Netflix, her character goes by the name of Claire Temple and is played by Rosario Dawson. According to Wikipedia, she’s “an amalgam of Temple and Night Nurse.” However, it is speculated that Christine Palmer is the one thought to be associated with McAdams, and not the Linda Carter option. The latter is known to the Doctor Strange series of comics wherein she is his love interest. This would then establish tie-ins between the Netflix show and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to the Marvel Wikia, the Night Nurse chose to side with Captain America during the Marvel Superhero Civil War. Could she also be involved in taking sides with Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers character as well?

Doctor Strange is also rumored to be mentioned in Easter egg format in the third Thor movie. References to the Eye of Agamatto, the Quantum Realm, and The Crossroads are to connect together the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Strange was already mentioned as a “threat to HYDRA” via the dialogue coming from Agent Sitwell in Captain America: Winter Soldier, according to Cinema Blend.

It was also already rumored that the glowing green color in Strange’s jewelry piece may be the green Time Stone as seen pictured in an Entertainment Weekly photo shoot, according to Inquisitr.

Doctor Strange, directed by Scott Derrickson, is scheduled for release on Nov. 4.
