Watch Pakistan Super League Cricket Live Online: Streaming 13th Match, Islamabad United Vs. Peshawar Zalmi

After nearly a decade of anticipation, the Pakistan Super League T20 franchise cricket tournament has arrived, and fans can watch the 13th match streaming live online as Islamabad United faces Peshawar Zalmi on Friday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

Due to security fears inside Pakistan, the five-team Super League will be played, like all of the Pakistan national cricket team’s home games, in the United Arab Emirates — a short, two-hour flight across the Persian Gulf from Karachi, Pakistan.

At first glance, the PSL may seem like yet another entry in the increasingly busy annual calendar of T20 franchise tournaments that includes the Australian Big Bash League, Caribbean Premier League, Bangladesh Premier League, South Africa’s Ram Slam T20, and of course the most successful of them all, the Indian Premier League, among many others.

But for the cricket scene in Pakistan, the inaugural Super League represents a significant step forward for the sport’s development in the cricket-crazy country, both in terms of international prestige and development of domestic talent. The PSL has already been deemed “the biggest thing to happen” for Pakistan cricket by no less than national team legend and former captain Wasim Akram.

“All the young cricketers would be rubbing shoulders with some of the greats of the modern game like Shane Watson, Kevin Pietersen, Chris Gayle, Brad Haddin, Andre Russell, living with them, watching them for 20-odd days, watching their training drills, what is their psyche,” Akram said in an interview with ESPNCricinfo this week.

Akram also said that the “long term plan” calls for the Super League to actually play in Pakistan.
