Jennifer Lawrence Clears Up All Those Captain America Dating Rumors

To the disappointment of many fans, Jennifer Lawrence is not in a relationship with Captain America’s Chris Evans. Despite rumors of a romance brewing between the two stars, E! Online is reporting that Lawrence is still a single woman and more than happy about it.

According to Movie News Guide, the news first surfaced after Lawrence was thought to have spent some time with Evans, which included several dates. The reports were then escalated by the desire of fans to see the two together and additional rumors that Lawrence’s best friend, Amy Schumer, had helped pair them together.

However, it is now apparent that none of these reports are true. In fact, instead of immersing herself in the dating world, Lawrence is busy working on a number of new and exciting projects, leaving little room in her schedule for romance.

For starters, the Hunger Games star is getting ready to appear in an upcoming film about the life of Fidel Castro, titled Marita. For her part, Lawrence is set to play the role of Castro’s ex-lover, Marita Lorenz. Lorenz was only 19-years-old when she met Castro, became his lover, had an abortion, and later turned against him by becoming an informant to the CIA.

Lawrence’s part in Marita comes on the heels of her most recent movie, Joy, which proved to be a critical success. In fact, Joy marks yet another success the Oscar nominee can add to her growing list of accomplishments.

At the same time, Lawrence is also working on a movie with Schumer. According to VH1, the project is now beyond the initial draft stage and is moving towards becoming a reality. With that in mind, what is the film about?

For starters, the film is a comedy with Lawrence and Schumer playing two sisters. Although the plot details are still vague at this point, it is known that their characters will be polar opposites of each other.

Apart from their roles as sisters, fans can expect the movie to feature plenty of hilarious moments. In fact, in an interview with BBC 6, Jennifer Lawrence explained her process in creating a funny script and admitted that she believes the movie is going to be truly hilarious.

“It was hilarious, because when you’re writing a comedy it’s not good enough unless you’re laughing out loud,” she told the outlet. “So I’m laughing at my pages and I’m laughing at her pages and thinking that the whole process is hilarious. I’m thinking we’ve got a pretty funny, good movie.”

That being said, Lawrence also revealed that there are not a lot of men in the movie. For those that may have been hoping that Evans would join the project, it appears that is not going to happen anytime soon.

Speaking of Evans, the Avengers star is no stranger to success. The actor, who first got noticed during his part in the 2000 television series Opposite Sex, is well known for his role as Steve Rogers in the Captain America franchise. In a similar manner as Lawrence, Evans has managed to build up quite the list of credits.

Although fans are not likely to see Evans and Lawrence paired together in the near future, they can watch both stars perform on the big screens in the coming year. For Lawrence, this includes her appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse, which is set to premiere in theaters in May. Evans, meanwhile, is set to appear in the lead role in Captain America: Civil War, which also hits theaters in May.

Lawrence’s project with Schumer is still in the development stage and has yet to announce an official release date.
