With the premiere of Season 4 of History Channel’s Vikings less than a month away, the A & E Network has released a bundle of new images to whet fans’ appetites.

SPOILER ALERT: This article contains information and images about the upcoming Season 4 of History Channel’s Vikings. Please proceed with caution if you wish to avoid potential spoilers

A & E Network has just released 27 new images of Season 4 of Vikings. While you can view the full gallery below, let’s have a look at some of the more interesting Vikings images up close and personal.

Yidu, played by Dianne Doan in season 4 of History Channel's Vikings

Not a lot is known about the new character of Yidu (played by Dianne Doan) other than the fact she is a slave of Asian descent that somehow ends up in Kattegat. She will also captivate Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) in Season 4 of Vikings, something we discuss further in this Inquisitr article.

The image above also sheds little information about Yidu and the role she will play. Will she merely be a distraction for Ragnar, who is getting increasing sick of his current wife, Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland)? Or will her role be more significant than that? Interesting to note in this image is the fact Yidu appears to have tears in her eyes. Is she grieving for a homeland she might never return to? Or could she be shedding a tear for a new love in her life? Only tuning into Season 4 of Vikings will reveal all.

Alexander Ludwig stars as Bjorn Ironside in season 4 of History Channel's Vikings

Recently Entertainment Weekly posted images of Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) fighting a bear after he decides to exile himself to the wilderness in order to prove his worth to his father, Ragnar. While the images are exciting, a new image has emerged via A&E that shows Bjorn with a large scar on his cheek. After viewing the images of him battling the bear, it is apparent this scar is not present then. Did Bjorn receive this injury from the bear? Or has Bjorn had a close call with someone else?

Moe Dunford stars as Aethelwulf in season 4 of History Channel's Vikings
[Image via Jonathan Hession/A&E]
This image of King Ecbert’s son Aethelwulf appears pretty boring at first glance. However, it is the description issued via A&E that is intriguing.

“King Ecbert (not pictured) sets the task for his son Aethelwulf (Moe Dunford, pictured, right) to rescue Queen Kwenthrith from opposing forces in Mercia.”

So it appears Queen Kwenthrith’s (Amy Bailey) rule has come into question and she has been captured in season 4 of Vikings. The big question is by whom. We know from the image that King Ecbert supports her, but who has attacked her, Englishmen or vikings?

Alyssa Sutherland stars as Aslaug in season 4 of History Channel's Vikings
[Image via Jonathan Hession/A&E]
For many Vikings fans, Aslaug is the wife of Ragnar that they love to hate. With one of the new promo videos of Season 4 of Vikings showing Aslaug asking the Seer (John Kavanagh) if a women will ever rule over Kattegat, it seems Aslaug may be planning to overthrow her husband in season 4 of Vikings. The image above shows Aslaug standing by herself. Could this image mean she will be the last one standing in Kattegat? Or does it indicate she alone will try to overthrow her husband?

Clive Standen stars as Rollo in season 4 of History Channel's Vikings
[Image via Jonathan Hession/A&E]
The finale of Season 3 of Vikings saw Ragnar’s brother, Rollo (Clive Standen), set to marry into French royalty. While this may seem like an interesting way to get vikings into the French stronghold, knowing Rollo and his history of deceit, it is just as likely he will betray his brother once more. This new image of Rollo shows the viking as more refined than before. Who will he align himself to in season 4 of Vikings? And how will his relationship with his new French wife, Gisla (Morgane Polanski), pan out?

Torvi (Georgia Hirst) and Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) star in season 4 of History Channel's Vikings
[Image via Jonathan Hession/A&E]
The final image of interest that I found for the upcoming Season 4 of Vikings shows Torvi (Georgia Hirst) and Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) standing at a loom. It appears Lagertha has been surprised by someone. Torvi does not seem concerned with whom Lagertha is startled by. So is the wife of Erlendur (Edvin Endre), the son of the man who Ragnar and Lagertha put to death, King Horik (Donal Logue), about to get her revenge? Only time will tell.
