MTV’s ‘The Challenge: Battle Of The Bloodlines’ — How The Return Of C.T. And Diem Brown’s Sister Could Change The Game

The wait is finally over. Fans have looked forward to Chris “CT” Tamburello’s return to MTV’s The Challenge for weeks. Now, after numerous teasers, CT finally made an appearance during the latest installment of The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines. How will his return with Diem Brown’s sister change the competition?

According to International Business Times, CT had not planned on being a part of reality TV following his last appearance in 2015. As fans may recall, CT and his partner, Diem Brown, were eliminated from the competition after she fell sick during production. In a tragic turn of events, Diem was diagnosed with stomach and colon cancer and passed away in November of 2014.

After spending time mourning the loss of his ex-girlfriend, CT decided to make a cameo appearance during this season of The Challenge in order to get some sense of closure and honor Diem’s memory.

“I felt some sort of sense of closure – not just for me. Not to move on, but to move forward — with everybody online and the support from everybody and from everyone who has followed D and me,” CT shared. “People watched us grow – watched her grow, watched me grow, watched us grow.”

Meanwhile, Fashion & Style is reporting that some of the other competitors did not take CT’s return very well. Although this isn’t all that surprising given the nature of some of the show’s contestants, Johnny Banana’s cousin, Vince Gliatta, apparently had a few for CT.

“I heard, back in the day, you and I might have been in competition,” Gliatta told CT.

Unfortunately for Gliatta, CT is not the kind of person to cower under threats. “Back in the day, you’d already be f**king knocked out,” CT replied.

Despite the tough outer shell, CT told MTV that his appearance on The Challenge was all about honoring Diem. In fact, the reality star admitted that being a part of the episode with Diem’s sister, Faith, was the best way he could honor the memory of his former girlfriend.

“If I was going to do it, I can’t think of a better way to do it. Where it all started. Diem used to always say ‘Faith is my heart, that’s my heart.’ To me, it made it a lot easier going into it like this,” he stated.

Speaking of Faith, Heavy is reporting that CT acknowledged that competing alongside Diem’s sister was extra special. Not only was it a great way to honor her memory, but he even felt as though Diem was right by side throughout the competition.

“I felt like I was there with [Diem], being on there with Faith,” he stated. “For me to kind of poke my head out of my hole – you know, because I kind of went dark [this past year], and I didn’t want to do anything with anybody – to be able to come back on just to do a little guest spot, it was really nice. If I was going to come back on the show, I couldn’t have thought of a better way to do it than with Faith right there next to me.”

As far as how CT’s return to the show will impact the overall competition is yet to be seen. Either way, his appearance with Faith is definitely one of the more memorable moments this season. Unfortunately, CT and Faith’s cameo was a one shot deal this season, and fans can expect the competition to proceed as usual in the coming episodes.

The next installment of The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines is set to air Wednesday night on MTV.
