Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello Ditched By Shawn Mendes?

Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello might want to cover her ears for this one.

Amid rumors that the Fifth Harmony beauty is dating musician Shawn Mendes, the “Stitches” singer totally denied the romance just minutes before performing a very steamy duet with the Fifth Harmony star.

According to People Magazine, Camila Cabello was the name on the lips of daytime talk show host Wendy Williams during an interview on Pitbull New Year’s Eve Revolution, where Shawn and the Fifth Harmony girlbander performed a pretty steamy duet together.

Williams quizzed the handsome singer about his reported blossoming romance with the star on December 31, telling him during the New Year’s Eve show, “I hear your girlfriend is here with you tonight.”

Unfortunately, for fans hoping the Fifth Harmony talent and the rising star were hooking up, Mendes was pretty quick to shut Wendy down. “Actually that’s wrong,” Shawn told the host. “I don’t have a girlfriend… Maybe I’ll find one here tonight.”

Though sources don’t know if Shawn found himself a lady to kiss on New Year’s Eve, Cabello was present at the big event and even joined her rumored love on stage to perform the duet, “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”

E! Online first reported that the Fifth Harmony star had found love with Shawn back in September. The site alleged earlier this year that the teenager’s longtime friendship had blossomed into something more this past fall after getting close during a joint tour which included the Fifth Harmony girls and Austin Mahone.

A Fifth Harmony insider allegedly continued to tell the site that Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes “really like each other” and do nothing but laugh when they’re in each other’s company.

That same month, Camilla appeared to confirm a romance on social media when she took to Instagram to share a snap of the rumored couple backstage at the IHeartRadio Festival, where both Shawn and Fifth Harmony performed.

Camilla Cabello also took to social media to add fuel to the romance fire in August after Shawn tweeted out to his more than 5 million followers that he was “going to try to learn Spanish again…” The Fifth Harmony beauty then replied, “don’t worry, you’ll learn fast because you have an INCREDIBLE Spanish teacher whose name rhymes with Vamila Carmello.”

If Mendes was telling the truth to Wendy Williams, rather than just playing coy, it sounds like Camila probably won’t have too much time to spend with the handsome singer in 2016. The star revealed in a recent interview that Fifth Harmony are set to have a busy year as they’re still busy working on a follow-up to their debut album, Reflection.

“We’re working on our second album right now,” Cabello recently told Entertainment Tonight of Fifth Harmony’s upcoming sophomore album, adding that the group is currently “in the last few days recording. You’re going to be hearing new music very soon, and that’s that.”

While she revealed there’s definitely new music coming from the Fifth Harmony ladies in 2016, Camilla also fueled break-up rumors when she revealed that the band, who rose to fame on The X Factor USA, certainly aren’t planning on staying together forever.

“Obviously any band, any group, someday is not going to be together anymore,” Cabello told Entertainment Tonight of the swirling split rumors that seem to keep on following the girl group. “That’s the truth. [Everybody] kind of knows it, whether you say it or not,” she added, “We’re working on new music for you guys right now — just be happy!”
