Chris Brown Missing Karrueche Tran In New Song ‘Discover’? Fans Gush Over Post-Breakup Track
Chris Brown is no stranger to referencing his past relationships in his music, but did Brown pen a new breakup song in honor of his most recent split from model Karrueche Tran for his new Royalty album?
Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran called off their longtime relationship in March following the news that Brown had fathered a child with model Nia Guzman. While Brown has been adamant about his decision to not reunite with Karrueche Tran given their tumultuous history together, fans seem to think that Brown is still missing ex-girlfriend Tran given the number of tracks that appear to have been inspired by Karrueche on Chris Brown’s new album.
In one new track from Brown’s Royalty album, titled “Discover,” Chris Brown reflects on a past romance while admitting that he wants to win a former lover back following a breakup.
“Oh, oh, I gotta get my baby, girl don’t leave me / All this crazy s*** that you been dealing with it, you probably hate me, hey / Cause baby if you cheated, I couldn’t handle that / To know that another n**** is making you smile like / I discover, discover I love her / Oh, I gotta get her back woah, yeah,” Chris Brown sings.
Given the nature of the lyrics, fans instantly began speculating that “Discover” may be yet another Royalty track inspired by Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran’s former relationship.
One fan explains, “Listening to Discover x Chris Brown trying to debate if he’s talking about @karrueche.” Another fan adds, “Yo, I’m willing to bet that Chris Brown song ‘Discover’ is about Karrueche.”
While Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran have gone their separate ways since ending their relationship earlier this year, Brown previously denied speculation that he purposely dissed Karrueche on several of Royalty‘s tracks.
Shortly after Royalty debuted online, rumors began surfacing that Chris Brown dissed Karrueche in his track “KAE,” prompting Brown to speak out against the claims while also clarifying the meaning behind the song.
In a screengrab captured by The Shade Room, Chris Brown admits that “KAE” is not “a bashing song” aimed at Karrueche Tran.
“People will make and use their own opinion,” Brown explains in reference to the song, “I’ll give you the opportunity to make your own assumptions. The song is saying that the relationship is no more. I’m expressing the time apart and the space that’s between two people who loved each other. The list of my mistakes are a mile long on my end. I’m expressing that I’m not familiar with who the other person is anymore at this point in my life. No bashing and definitely not hate.”
Brown concluded his post regarding “KAE” with, “My love in general is eternal and unconditional. I’m expressing the man I am today the best way I know how, through art and music.”
The news comes just days after Karrueche Tran was blasted by Chris Brown fans after being photographed wearing a diamond ring that Brown gifted to her last year for Christmas.
NY Daily News obtained photos of Karrueche Tran vacationing in Miami last week, noting that the model was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger that closely resembled the ring Chris Brown gifted to her while they were still together.
While fans were quick to accuse Karrueche of trying to get attention by wearing the ring on her engagement finger, the model later spoke out against the accusations on Instagram.
In response to a photo posted to The YBF‘s Instagram account regarding her decision to wear the diamond ring gifted to her by Chris Brown, Karrueche explained, “I wear this ring when I want to because it’s my ring. It’s on THAT finger because it keeps men away. Simple as that.”
