‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 Spoilers — Jon Snow’s Return Confirmed, Is This How He Will Be Reborn? [Teaser Trailer]

A new promotional poster has officially been released for Season 6 of Game of Thrones, and it strongly hints that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) will be back. Based on the report from the Week, the poster features a close up of Snow’s face, which despite being splattered with blood looks very much alive. Now that Snow’s return has been all but confirmed, the only question remaining is how the character will be resurrected in Season 6.

While producers have been trying their best to keep spoilers to a minimum, new on-set developments may offer a solution to how John will be revived. Apparently, the scenes involving Melisandre (Carice van Houten), the red priestess, were all shot indoors and in secret. Does this indicate that Melisandre will be involved in Snow’s resurrection in the coming season?

To further add credit to this theory was the presence of Snow’s faithful dire wolf, Ghost, during the filming of Melisandre’s scenes. Taken together, it now seems as though Snow is set for an epic return when the new season hits televisions. This is something that, according to Realty Today, Van Houten indicated would be a focus of the series in the new season.

“You’ve seen her clock Jon Snow, which is a great ending because you think, ‘Uh oh, what’s going to happen there’?” Van Houten explained to the outlet. “You feel that she is concentrating more and more towards Jon Snow… there are slight hints that something’s going to happen.”

So far, all of the evidence seems to indicate that Snow will, in fact, be resurrected in the new season. If that does turn out to be true, then the most likely scenario includes Melisandre using her magic to bring him back, much to the delight of fans everywhere.

Even more, the idea of a character resurrection isn’t anything new for the world of Westeros. Beric Dondarrion serves as one example of a character who has died and been brought back to life more than once by a similar priestess, Thoros. That being said, each time Dondarrion has been brought back, he has suffered from memory loss, which is something Snow may also have to deal with after his rebirth.

Memory loss might not be the only thing Snow will face in his return. The poster includes some blood on Snow’s face, which suggests he will be nursing an injury after being brought back. While details concerning the injury are not known, it has been speculated that Snow will have some kind of eye injury that may lead to him being partially blind. Either way, given the amount of blood of Snow’s face in the poster, the character is not likely to be resurrected without some consequences.

Meanwhile, the recent poster isn’t the only indication of Snow’s coming return. According to the Wrap, the first trailer for the upcoming has also been released and features Snow quite heavily. If the character was truly dead, then it isn’t likely that producers would feature him so prominently in their initial promo materials.

The video is narrated by Max Von Sydow, who is set to play the Three-Eyed Raven in Season 6. Along with Sydow’s narration, the video features a number of shots of Snow as he met his end during last season’s finale.

“They have no idea what will happen,” the trailer concludes.

In addition to showing Snow’s death, the trailer includes a number of different flashbacks of some of the more memorable moments on the show. These flashbacks include the Red Wedding, Ned Stark’s shocking demise, Daenery’s dragons, and the scene where Bran warged out.

The sixth season of Game of Thrones is set to premiere sometime in April 2016. Check out the teaser trailer below and tell us what you think in the comments.
