Justin Bieber A Fan Of CL? — Mega Pop Star Praises Leader Of 2NE1’s Latest Single ‘Hello B*****s’

Earlier this month, K-pop fans were teased by YG Entertainment when they uploaded a post on their social media pages that something was about to go down on November 21, 2015 at 21:00. Naturally, said K-pop fans went crazy trying to figure out what the mysterious date was inferring to. After much online debate, most believed YG Entertainment was teasing the comeback of 2NE1, one of the most popular K-pop idol girl groups presently in the industry. When November 21, 2015 came around, they were wrong, but only three-fourths wrong. It turned out the date was when CL, the leader of 2NE1, would release her latest single titled “Hello B*****s.”

Since its release, “Hello B*****s” has accumulated 3.7 million views on 2NE1’s official YouTube. Among those who liked it include Blackjacks (fans of 2NE1) and CL fans. Jokingly among comments, many guys liked the video simply for the “red scene.” However, the most influential praise is from her fellow American artists and just recently, Justin Bieber had some praise to deliver pertaining to CL’s “Hello B*****s.”

Justin Bieber gave his praise via his official Twitter on November 26, 2015, five days after “Hello B*****s” was released, as reported by KpopStarz. Apparently, the artist known for songs, such as “Baby” from his debut days to “Sorry” right now, thought “Hello B*****s” was “dope.”

As a bigger service to her fans, CL is making the song absolutely free to download on the music sharing service Soundcloud. Such is good for CL since she wants to start from the ground-up. She does not want to simply rely on her popularity attained through K-pop as the leader of 2NE1 to become a major name in the American music industry, a tactic Girls’ Generation tried and failed with the American version of their album The Boys.

It should also be noted that Yang Hyun Suk, the CEO of YG Entertainment, is impressed with CL’s American debut. He recently made a statement with K-Pop Herald pertaining to the CL and her latest song.

“Personally, I am very satisfied with the dance performance clip of ‘Hello B**ches.’ Frankly, CL hasn’t shown such powerful dance moves, following an intense-tempo track, when she was part of the [2NE1] group.”

Yang Hyun Suk is probably talking about the more suggestive dance moves, especially the ones during the “red scene” of “Hello B*****s.” CL wouldn’t be allowed to use such moves in 2NE1 not because YG Entertainment wouldn’t allow it, but it would most likely be censored by Korean television. Numerous K-pop idol groups, especially the all-female ones, have to be careful with some of the dance moves they do in music videos unless they don’t mind being censored or banned. “Vibrato” by Stellar is an excellent example of a song in which its music video broke this rule.

To be fair though, Justin Bieber giving praise to CL may not be surprising. They may in fact be good friends if Bieber’s lip sync video of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “I Really Like You” is any indication. In it, Bieber obviously lip syncs to Jepsen’s song, but he accompanied by an array of other musicians and celebrities whom are considered his friends including Kendall Jenner, Ariana Grande, and Lance Bass. CL was one of the featured musicians.

Right now, CL is busy with her American solo career, placing the final touches on her debut album. It was made known through YG Entertainment that live performances pertaining to said album will most likely happen next year. As for 2NE1 making a comeback, such will happen after CL is completely done with her first solo album.
